It was parents day, adults sat with there kids and socialized, heck even Max seemed to be enjoying himself with Gwen and David, which only made Harrison feel worse. He picked at his mashed potatoes, occasionally sneaking glances at his parents who were standing a few feet behind him. He sighed, resting his head in his hands, gazing at his plate. He made the mistake of looking over sat Nerris, who was sitting on the next bench over to his, she looked so happy with her parents, them both laughing with her and her talking about her latest quest. That stupid adorable grin on her face tore Harrison's heart apart, it was all he had ever wanted, a normal family. Him his brother and his mom and dad. But they were missing two things His brother and Trust. He looked at his parents one more time, before pushing his plate away and crossing his arms on the table, laying his head down.

After wiping a tear from laughing hard after hearing a crazy story of how her dad almost burnt down there house while Nerris was at camp, she noticed Harrison, he was visibly upset, hiding his face in his arms. She noticed and stopped laughing immediately. Her parents looked down at her. "What's wrong Honey?" Her Mom asked concerned. Nerris gestured towards Harrison, and then his parents frowning. Her parents exchanged a glance then looked back down at there daughter. "Well why don't you say something to cheer him up Hun?" Her dad suggested, making sure to quiet down so the magician wouldn't hear. Nerris glanced over at him again and sighed. "Cause dad he's like the ogre that attacks you right before you finish a quest!" Nerris' mother looked at her husband confused. "They don't get along well." He explained. "Right, right, of course." Nerris' mom placed a hand on her daughters shoulder, "Honey if you were in his place, wouldn't you want someone to comfort you?" Nerris looked up at her mom. "I guess.." she looked away. "Then talk to him baby, come on." The young Mage looked at Harrison then at her parents. She stood up slowly and walked over to Harrison's table and took a seat next to him. Harrison heard the creaking of the old wood and looked up to sneak a quick look at who had sat down next to him. He saw the all to familiar freckled face staring at him. "Harrison.." she started. "Save it Nerris.." he mumbled into his arms. "Harrison please talk to me, I'm trying to do a nice thing." He looked up at her again, her sparkling blue eyes were focused on him. He picked his head up and held it in his hands. "What do want?" He asked annoyed. "How come your parents aren't sitting with you?" Nerris questioned. He mumbled a reply. "Hari, hello?" She waved a hand in front of his face. He mumbled again. Nerris tried to place her elbow on the table, but it ended up hitting the brim of Harrison's plate, and a glob a mashed potatoes smacked the young elf in the face. Harrison clamped his hands over his mouth in shock, and to hide the fact he was trying not to laugh. Nerris blinked a few times then noticed Harrison had a small smile on his face. "Oh you think that's funny dwarf?" She asked. "Well, I gotta joke for ya, HA!" She wiped her check and threw a glob of mashed potatoes at Harrison, which ended up hitting him in the middle of his face, Nerris was laughing like a maniac and Harrison was stunned. He quickly picked up another pile of mashed potatoes and fired it towards Nerris, they kept throwing potatoes at each other, laughing so hard the could barley breathe. Nerris' parents watched the two. "It's funny, they kind of remind me of us when we were younger." Nerris' mom stated. "Ha, I guess they do." Her husband replied. They smiled at each other and then looked back at there daughter and her newly found friend, they had ran out of mashed potatoes and were starting to catch there breath. "Heheh thanks Nerris.." Harrison managed through giggles. "For what?" The Mage questioned. "For being super clumsy." He said playfully. "Um, you wanna repeat yourself dwarf?" She said, trying to be threatening. Harrison laughed "I'm sorry, it's just you look like a kitten trying to roar right now." Nerris gasped dramatically and placed a hand on her forehead "How could thee? You have offended the fair lady, be ashamed!" She made a fake death noise. "Ok your starting to spend far to much time around Preston." The two continued laughing until David saw the mess they made. "Kids! What the heck!? Why are you two covered in your dinners?" Nerris and Harrison exchanged glances before busting out laughing, and never wanting to stop.
