Episode 1: Birth of a New Kamen Rider

(POV none, Button Mash's house)

Button Mash is a young boy with brown skin, orange hair, and amber eyes. He wears a white t-shirt with red stripes on it, blue shorts, red sneakers, and a beanie with red, orange, and yellow stripes and a green propeller that keeps spinning even when it's inside. He was watching the news and learned that a yellow monster with a yellow drill on its left hand, yellow spikes all over its body, a black face that looked like a dog's, and black and white eyes that were in the shape o spirals. This made the fifth time that its been sighted there, and every time it seems like it's looking for something or someone.

"Button Mash, I've never seen you watching the news before. What's wrong?" Love Tap, Button's mother, asked as she looked to her son. She wears a black log sleeved shirt, a cream colored skirt, and brown high boots. She also has brown hair, cream-colored skin, and sky blue eyes.

Button Mash doesn't usually bother with the news because either he goes straight for the video games, or he does his homework as fast as possible, and then plays video games. "Well, call me crazy, but I think that this... thing has something to do with Sweetie Belle somehow," Button Mash said. Ever since the monster's first appearance, Sweetie Belle has been getting visions of an empty space filled with an infinite number of books, and about some sort of electronic belt with a weird design. The belt thing Button could understand since Sweetie was the sister of Rarity, but the infinite bookshelves would be something that Twilight would have. Not only that, but he timing of the visions is a bit suspicious.

"Button, you know that Rarity wouldn't let anyone hurt her little sister," Love Tap said, trying to comfort her son.

"I know, but I can't help but worry about her. I just want to help her with this issue in any way that I can, not just be completely useless about it," Button said with a bit of sadness in his voice.

"Button, why don't you go walk for a bit to clear your head? Love Tap asked.

"Okay, mom," Button said as he went out the door to walk around for a bit. However, what they didn't know was that someone had overheard what they had just said.

(POV none, Canterlot City)

Button Mash was walking down the sidewalk when a female voice said, "Hey kid. Come over here." Button Mash looked to his left and saw a shadowy figure that was in an alleyway. After he pointed to himself to ask if she was talking about him, the woman nodded her head to answer with a yes.

"Sorry, but my mom told me not to talk to strangers, especially those that are in an alleyway," Button said as he began to walk away.

"Even if that stranger knows what's happening to the one that you care about the most?" the strange woman asked, making Button Mash stop dead in his tracks. He didn't know if she was talking about Sweetie Belle's visions or something else, but if this was his only chance to figuring out the connection between the unknown creature and Sweetie Belle, then he had to take it. However, when he turned back around, he saw that the woman wasn't there anymore.

"Hey, wait!" Button said as he ran into the alleyway until he tripped on something and faceplanted on the ground. "Ow," he said as he got back up and saw that what he tripped over was a cardboard box. Curiosity getting the better of him, he carefully opened up the box and saw a weird looking red and black cellphone, two oversized USB flash drives, a red one decorated to look like a circuit board with a picture of a rhinoceros beetle on it, and a cyan one that's translucent, has a giant "L" that looks like a laser, and has the word, "Laser," on it in a smaller font in the top left, and finally, a device that has three transparent slots on it with three white buttons directly below the three slots with the rest being red. The left and right slots are at the same height, with the middle slot being higher than the rest. The left and right buttons are in the shape of a trapezoid while the middle button is in the shape of an hourglass to fit perfectly with the two trapezoid shaped buttons. The first thing that Button Mash picks up is the cellphone, which he inspects with curiosity. "What is this thing?" Button asks, not having even a single clue that it's designed as an old gen phone. He kept fidgeting with it until it started vibrating, startling him and making him jump back in fear. After a little while, Button Mash looked at it, and, thinking that it was like a smartphone, was confused that the screen was still black. "I don't get it," Button Mash said confused. He then picked up the device with the three white buttons on it, he saw something that was underneath the device and out of his sight: an instruction manual for something called a Kabuto Phone.
