In Love With The New Boy

CHAPTER FIVE

I woke up with a smell of chocolate tea with pancakes and hamlets.I got and did my daily "get ready for school" routine before going then taking up a plate of food. It's aroma was touching. My mom and I weren't always close but her cooking brought us together on most accounts. I ate all my food and then kissed my mother and the baby as I do every morning since recently before leaving,dad was no where to be found so he missed out on it. " Oh and mom,I'm going to a party tonight so....yeah. "  I dashed out before I left ,I knew that she was furious but I knew dad would talk to her.

I reached class in time to her my name and I said present before sitting down. I felt as if though someone was watching me and when I turned around I saw Sabrina stating at me. I simply smiled and turned around.

At lunch I went to my regular seat and found a surprise waiting for me. Akeem. He turned around as I walked up the seat. I smiled nervously at him then sat down. " What are you doing here Akeem. " I said. "Wow, if I'd known that's how you would have greeted me, I'd stay at the popular seat." He said with a smile plastered on my face. I smiled back before saying , "You know I'm trying to stay on the low right" " Yeah" " Well that's about to be blown. Everyone's staring at us;including your girlfriend. " He looked behind him before saying "Ex." I looked at him in confuse then I realized what he was saying. "Oh." " I'm so sorry,what happened? " 

"We got into a fight after I invited you to my party. She thinks that you want to take me from her. " I looked at him in surprise but allowed him to continue, " She insisted that if I loved her I would uninvited you .....So I told her that if I had to do something like that to someone who was nice to me on my first day of school,then I guess I didn't love her. " I wanted to kiss him but instead I told him once again that I'm sorry that he had to choose.

We then realized that the whole school was watching us so we left the cafeteria and went to the parking lot. We were talking about all sorts of things and I realized that he hadn't been completely consumed by popularity.

Then the bell rang and we had to go to class. I said goodbye and as I was about to go,he held my hand and said, "Your still coming to the party right?" I looked at his hand then his face then said, " Yeah,of course. Wouldn't miss it for the world. "Then I walked away.

When I reached home I searched all over my closet for something to wear to the party. I looked at the back of my closet and found my black wedge heel sneakers and decided that I would wear them. I then saw a black high waist pants that were ripped,so I laid them out. I looked in my suitcase and found my black off the shoulder blouse,I then went to take a shower and did my hair and makeup. I put on my clothes then went downstairs. I saw my mom and dad there waiting,it was almost as if I was going to my prom. They were major cheesy.

I went downstairs and stood before my mother. She took one look at my and tears started to stream her eyes. "My baby is finally going out!" She said with a sob. I rolled my eyes at her as  dad comforted her. Then he mouthed for me to go. I followed his command and left.
