Chapter one: Trade mistakes
'My one regret is you.'

The crisp, fall air made Lana shiver slightly. She felt a smile creep upon her face as she caught sight of her bestfriend, and soulmate, Steve Harrington. His eyes lit up as he saw her freckled face smiling at his.

"Hey dork." He said, play hitting Lana's arm.
"Hey loser. I missed you." Lana hummed, fake hitting Steve back and pulling him into a hug. The pair remained like this for a few moments, the both of them taking in each other's scents.

"But you just saw me earlier. I brought you to school." Steve mumbled against Lana's hair.
"Felt like forever." Lana replied, barley audible against Steve's chest.
"I love you, Alaina Marie."
"I love you too, Steven Andrew." Lana said in return.
Finally, Steve broke the hug.

"I think I'm going to ask Nancy out." He said, biting his lip. Unsure if he really wanted to.

"I uh, I hope she says yes." She said, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"Lana wait!" Steve started after her.
"Steven, no. Just let me be, please." Lana replied, running into the bathroom.

And so Steve stood there, looking dumbfounded and feeling confused.
"I've lost her."
