I would love to hear the feed back on the story. I hate grammar mistakes so please point them out if you see any. I am also taking suggestions on what should happen next in the plot line. - StarStruck_2018
I was taken to my mother's chambers; the guards pushed me so that I was almost running there. I had a feeling that this wasn't going to go well. I tried to stand as straight as possible and I put an innocent smile on my face when the guards knocked on the door to the chambers.
"Come in." my mother commanded. As we walked into the room I noticed that Mother was sitting on her bed hunched over herself. I could see relief wash over her face when she looked at me but then her face turned cold. "Get out." The guards quickly left us alone and I was almost tempted to run out of the room with them. Mother patted the bed beside her and I went and sat down beside her. I decided that it would be best if I started to talk first otherwise this anger inside of her would just explode.
"I'm sorry. I know that I shouldn't have run off like that. I'm sorry I really am." I said quietly as my eyes lined with silver. It wasn't because I was actually that sorry but that I was afraid of what she was going to say. I didn't want to be locked up in my room for eternity. Usually whenever I ran off it was just for an hour and then I would come back and do my classes. This time however I was gone for around five hours making it so much worse. I looked over to her and tried to read her eyes. She gazed into my sky blue eyes, ones that matched hers, and I noticed she had moved closer to me.
"Darling, I'm not mad, well not that much. You just can't keep running off like that. You are going to get yourself hurt or something like that. I couldn't bear if something happened to you. And you need to keep up your studying; we can't have a princess without knowledge now can we?" She took my hand in hers and kissed it before embracing me. I hugged her back knowing how rare it was to. When she pulled back her eyes were also lined with silver.
"Now where did you go today that you got so distracted as to be gone for five hours?" she asked curiosity written all over her face.
"Well... nowhere special... I just hid in the gardens, reading a good book, and then Prince Darian showed up and we talked, a lot, and he didn't exactly know that I had somewhere I needed to be." I told her, knowing from Nicholas that the best lie is always filled with the truth. I didn't want my parents to find out about the barracks or I would never be able to go back there again. She nodded realizing that I had actually enjoyed talking to someone other than my family.
"I understand. Now go and get something to eat you must be famished, since you have not eaten anything since breakfast." she stated. I immediately got off the bed and started towards the door.
"And, one more thing," she started and I turned towards her, "You will, from now, until I deem it necessary have a guard with you at all times, whether that be at socials or when you are doing your classes. He will stay within twenty feet of you at all times. When you are in your chambers he will be outside your door."
"What? But Mother—"
"No 'buts' Kendra, I know you and I know that this wouldn't be the last time this would happen so you will be under constant surveillance. Just until you can prove to me that it won't happen again." she said sternly. I looked down at my feet trying not to explode at my mother. With my fists clenched and my eyes burning I looked back up at her.
"Yes Mother." I said as calmly as possible, as I tried not to clench my teeth together. I turned back to the door and opened it. It was obvious that guards had been listening because when I was just about ten feet away, one of them started to follow me. I wasn't sure exactly where I was going but I knew that I just needed to get away from there. Before I realized it I was in my room shutting the door behind me and locking it. I collapsed onto my queen size bed as tears streamed down my face. I screamed into my pillow so frustrated that I could never be normal. I heard the guard stop in front of my locked door. Sometimes I wished my room was sound proof, and then I could do whatever I wanted without alerting others.
