"I do not understand this. Why me, exactly?"

"Isn't it obvious. You're the perfect candidate for this."

"I know what you're thinking, Thunder Empress. Why not put the Number One Hero in charge, right?"

"Precisely. He's a little more capable than me as the rank says it all."

"That's where you are wrong, Nana. The ranks only depend on a number of cases solved, general popularity and level of social contribution. You know what isn't much of a factor?... Leadership."

"I'm flattered but this is a big situation."

"Which is why we need you. Unlike the others, you know how to get things done. Even though you love the people, you were never in this for the fame. You do this because you love it. Right?"

"And let's not forget about your accomplishments as we speak. You're one of the Number Two Heroes with so much under your belt, you're CEO of a multi-billion dollar/yen management company, and you are leading one of the most prestigious schools in the country. That says a lot about you already."

"You really do need me, huh."

"More than ever."

"... Fine...I'll do it."

"Thank you, Thunder Empress. You can handle this however you see fit. Including this one exception... It doesn't matter if he returns... Dead or Alive. Just end this. The country depends on it."

NANA's P. O. V.

I look out the window with my mind wandering elsewhere as I sit at my desk. I couldn't help but think about the fact that I am in charge of this task.

It is very nervewracking to think. To be honest, I still have my doubts that I can pull this off. Nonetheless, it doesn't even matter. The Police Force has already entrusted me with this and I refuse to let them or the people of this country down.

Still...

"Nana? Nana!" I snap out of that trance of mine to see my husband looking at me very concerned. Eijiro then places his hand on top of mine, finding a way to intertwine. "Are you okay?"

"Yea." I softly smile, standing up and staring out of the window. "I was just thinking... taking on this case... I feel that the fate of this country is in my hands. It all depends on me."

Slightly startling me, Eijiro comes behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, following with a kiss on the cheek. I felt at ease then. Being in my love's embrace always make me feel better.

"You shouldn't worry like this." He says. "Babe, you're far from alone. From the Pros to the citizens, we are behind you. All the way."
