I threw my keys down on the counter and my bestie, Ross came running out of my bedroom with a guilty look on his face.

"Heyyyyyyy Blaire." Ross said, using my nickname.

"Hello Ross, where is Shredder?" I asked, the guilty expression on his face just grew. He began to fiddle with the sleeve of his sweater and I ran to my bedroom. He ran ahead of me and tried to stop me but I was stronger than him. I pushed him aside and saw my German Shepherd laying in the middle of a pile of fluff.

"Ross!!!" I said and he gives me a nervous look. He looked at Shredder who had an innocent look on his face then back to me.

"Shredder and I were playing tug of war.... he really liked your pillows..." Ross said while looking down. I sighed, I was too tired to get angry at them.

"Ross, you're on clean up duty. I'll take Shredder to Mom and Dad's. I'm sure Chris would love to see him." I say and text my younger brother, saying I'm dropping by. I clip Shredder's leash on him and walked out to the parking lot. I hop into my truck and head towards the country. Normally Ross would come with me to steal some of my mom's food but since my pillows were destroyed he was grounded.

On my way to my parent's house I felt like I was being followed by the white truck behind me. A lot of guys in my area had white trucks so it was normal, this one just felt sort of... off....

I drove to my parents house and my younger brother came running out. My mom didn't really like dogs so once moved out and took my dog with me they didn't get another, although, Dad was considering getting a Boxer.

Chris opened the back door of my truck and Shredder jumped out, tackling my younger brother to the ground. Mom walked outside and shook her head at us, knowing she was gonna be babysitting for a bit. Yes, she hated dogs but she loved me and she knew that Chris loved Shredder. I hopped back into my truck and went to the store to look at pillows. I was thankful Shredder didn't rip my stuffies, any of them had sentimental value.

I walked around the store and found two fluffy pillows and a grey bed set that would match my lavender colored walls. I bought the pillows and the bed set then headed back to my apartment to fix my room before picking Shredder up.

Walking into my apartment I went into my room to see Ross curled up in a fetal position with tear stains on his pink cheeks. Ross had just gotten out of an abusive relationship when he moved in with me. Whenever he was stressed he'd always cry himself to sleep then have horrible nightmares. I layed down beside him and kissed his forehead, whispering comforting words to him while he shivered. I would never wake him. The last time I woke him up he had a panic attack and nearly passed out.

Once Ross woke up he helped me change my sheets and I made him some comfort food. When I offered Ross the chance to come hang out with my family he was practically jumping at the chance. My dad liked Ross but didn't like that he was gay. Mom however adored Ross as much as I did, treating him like her own son and always making sure there will be something for him to eat.

When we arrived at my parent's place Mom came walking out and smiled when she saw the brown haired boy I had brought with me.

"You're too skinny. Is Blaire not feeding you enough?" She joked. Ross walked up the steps and hugged my mom tightly while giggling. Mom pecked my brown haired friend on the cheek then dragged us inside to show us her latest creation in the kitchen.

"Grier wanted it for her birthday, I was testing this new recipe. Try it." She said. Grier was my older brother Thomas' daughter. She was turning six this year and her new obsession was dolphins. She said that when she grew up she wanted to be a marine biologist so she could live with  dolphins. The cake Mom had made was a pink dolphin.
