Leah woke up late the next morning, since she didn't get home until about 1 in the morning. She woke up and went downstairs to see her mom just getting off the phone and was smiling from ear to ear.
"What's wrong mom?" Leah asked as she got her bowl and cereal.
"Oh nothing but we need to go run to the studio after breakfast." Her mother replied
"But mom I thought we had the day off." She complained
"We do, we just need to go and do something really quick and then we will come back home." Her mom said.
Leah nodded and went back to her cereal. Once she finished she ran up to her room and got dressed. She threw on a pair of leggings and a Imagine Dragons shirt with a pair of black converse. She threw her hair into a messy bun and brushed her teeth.
Once she had finished and made her way downstairs her mom was already ready and at the door waiting. They hopped into the car and drove to the studio.
"Why do you think Mr. Yen wants to see us today?" Leah asked her mom
"He didn't say, he just told me he wanted to us for a few minutes today." Mrs. Collins replied.
After a while they pulled into the parking lot of the karate school. They walked in to find Mr and Mrs. Yen, Jake, Mr.Zhang and a few of the students. Leah was very confused because they all looked at her and smiled. Mr. Zhang was the first to walk up to her.
"Leah, I have a big question to ask you." Mr. Zhang started. Leah looked at him straight in the eyes and her heart was pounding. What happened, was she in trouble?
"Would you be willing to because an official member of our karate school?" Mr. Zhang asked. Leah felt as if her heart was about to burst out over her chest with excitement. Was this really happening to her?
"Yes, yes, yes, of course!" Leah said. Everyone cheered for her and ran over and tackled her in a group hug. they showered her with congratulations, congrats, and welcome to the family. once they let her go, she ran to her mo who was in tears. Leah gave her a hug and thanked her. Mr Zhang came over to Leah and shook her hand and smiled
"Welcome Leah. we have a few things for you here." Mr. Zhang said as Mr. Yen brought in her uniform, white belt, sparring gear for later, and a bag to put her stuff in.
"Wait, mom aren't you gonna have to pay for all this stuff? You said it yourself, it's was to expensive for you and dad." Leah said turning to look at her mother. Her mom shook her head
"I've already taken care of it." Leah heard Mr. Zhang say.
"Really?" Leah said in disbelief. Mr.Zhang nodded
"But why?" She asked. Mr. Zhang explained his reason to her and she blushed.
"You saw me in the gym room? Leah asked. Mr. Zhang nodded.
"I must go, i have a press confess in 30 minutes, i will be seeing you on next Tuesday." Mr. Zhang said to Leah as he left. They rest of the students and their parents had to leave as well and the congratulated her again as they left.
"Congratulations Leah!" Jack said running over to her giving her a hug. Jack let her go and Mrs. Yen came over and gave her a hug as well
"Welcome to the family, sweetie." She said
"Congrats kid." Mr. Yen said padding her shoulder. After they talked some more and and gave her the class schedule, Mrs. Collins and Leah headed back home.
"Your dad will be home in about two hours and then we will go out to celebrate this. We will relax until then." Leah nodded and went up to her room and plopped on her bed. She lied there and watch The Karate Kid when her phone went off. She got a text from a unknown number.
Unknown: Sorry i couldn't make it to congratulate you today at the karate studio, so ill congratulate you now. Congrats Leah! :)
