"What do you mean?"

The look on Becca's face was full of confusion but not as much as mine was last night when I awoke from the dream. It felt so real, almost like I really was connected to this Sage person. There was no way that could have been real, though. Right? Witches do not exist, there was no spell that has has binded my soul to someone else and the voice in my head last night was just a figment of my exhausted imagination.

"I don't know, the whole thing seemed and felt so real." I leaned against my headboard and put my knees up to my chest, wrapping my arms around them.

"You have been watching way too many paranormal shows on TV" Becca responded. She wasn't wrong. I spent hours on Netflix watching show after show having to do with the paranormal. It's been like that since my dad had passed away. I wanted so badly to believe that it was possible for the spirits to reach out to you so I watched these shows trying to become a believer that way maybe I could possibly see or talk to my dad once again. I have learned so much and I slightly believed in ghosts but nothing has happened. But there is a huge difference between paranormal and witches. One is entirely possible but witches existing? Someone with magical powers where all they have to do is say a few words or chants to make crazy things happen? That wasn't something that I believed in.

"Maybe you're right but" I was cut off.

"No buts, Mar. It was just a dream."

"What was just a dream?" We both looked over to the doorway to see Adam standing there. He walked over to the bed and sat next to me, wrapping his left arm around my shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"She had a dream that her and her soul mate." She paused and looked at me. "Sage, was it?"

I nodded my head.

"Right, anyways. She dreamed that they were both witches and they cast a spell that would lock their souls together for all of eternity. Following that they were abducted and burned on the cross." Becca looked at me once again. "Does that sum it up?" I nodded my head. Hearing her say it out loud made everything seem crazier than what it actually was. Before Adam could respond the chimed in once again. "OH! And after she woke in panic, she heard someone whisper come to me into her ear."

It took Adam a second to comprehend everything that was just said to him. I looked at him, hoping to be able to read his expression. But it was blank. He cleared his throat and then released his grip from around my shoulder and bent over into his hands and lightly rubbed his eyes.

"Who is Sage?" The words came out of Adam's mouth and then he looked at me. I shrugged.

"I have no idea. He might have just been someone that I saw on an episode of Ghost Hunters or something" Truth be told, I have never actually seen him before in my life. Not even on a TV show. And I know for a fact that story wasn't on the show but I didn't want him thinking anything of it more than what it was. A dream. Just a dream.

He pressed his forehead to mine and closed his eyes. "I love you" he whispered.

"I love you too." I placed my hand on his cheek and lightly rubbed it.

"Gross" Becca spoke, breaking the silence. "I'm going to get a burger, you guys coming?" Before we could even respond Becca was already off of the bed, purse in hand and halfway out the door. I felt Adam's lips press against mine lightly and before I could get lost in it he pulled away and was already heading for the door.

"Come on, slow poke" he screamed out as he headed for the door. I reached over and grabbed my phone and my wallet and made my way out the door as well, running down the stairs and out the front door behind them.

We all piled into Becca's car. She drove a black 2016 Prius. Her parents told her that she could have any car that she wanted and they would make the payments but that she would be in charge of everything else. She decided to go with the Prius not because of its style but because of its gas mileage. Smart.

We pulled into the Five Guys parking lot. In our opinion, they have the best burgers around. We walked up to the counter and ordered our food and sat at the table with a bowl of peanuts waiting for our numbers to be called. Five minutes later I was unfolding the foil wrapped around my burger and I took a huge bite of it. Delicious. A bacon cheese burger with mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion. The grease dripped down my face and Adam grabbed a napkin and wiped it away, laughing a little as he did so.

Adam and I were that couple that were what everyone called relationship goals. He was always so sweet and gentle to my needs and was always there whenever I needed him. He never forced me to tell him anything that I wasn't ready to tell him and when my dad died he spent the first couple of nights with me. I didn't say much and he didn't ask much either. We just laid there on the bed and he held me throughout those days while I cried into his chest.

We finished our burgers and Becca dropped Adam and I back off at my house and headed to work. She was a server at a local restaurant and though she pretty much hated the job she couldn't deny how much she loved the money. She had a charming personality that got her guests to tip her well.

Adam and I walked up to my bedroom and sat on the edge of my bed. My thoughts trailed back onto the dream. I couldn't get it out of my mind no matter how many times I tried to. I closed my eyes and started reliving the scenes that played out in dream and just when I went to focus back into Sage's eyes I felt an arm touch my lower back causing me to jump back into reality.

"You okay?" Adam had a worried look on is face so I let out a small, reassuring smile. I leaned in and lightly kissed him on the cheek and pressed my forehead to his once again. I opened my eyes and looked into his and nodded. "I'm okay."

The rest of the day was a typical lazy day for the both of us. We laid in my bed with his arms wrapped around me watching movie after movie on Netflix. These were the moments that I lived for. The moments where I could just lay there in his arms and saying nothing but feeling everything. I loved Adam more than I have ever loved anyone. If anyone was my soul mate it was him. Not this Sage person that was in my dreams last night but Adam.

After our third movie I felt his lips press against my forehead. He held his soft lips there for a few moments and then pulled away and lightly kissed my lips. "I love you. I'll talk to you tomorrow" I nodded my head. "I love you too and I'll be waiting" A smile came across his face as he grabbed his keys. He leaned in once again and placed a small kiss on my lips and then he was gone.

I sighed lightly and jumped back down onto my bed, pulling my laptop up to me. The plan for the rest of the night was to find a video on YouTube and then keep clicking all the recommended onces until I was tired. I pressed the power button on my computer and waited for it to boot up.

My heart fell into my stomach and my breathing was like I had just been punched in the gut. I was so scared that I almost threw my computer clear across the room but I didn't. I just sat there and stared at the screen. An article was pulled up on my web browser that was talking about the many stories of Salem, the victims and their stories. Right at the top of the list were the names Amaris and Sage.
