Alright ya'll so that's what Rumi's hair looks like. Also the top picture is her outfit. I'm gonna try to post the outfit she's wearing during the chapter each time cause why not.
Today is the day.
I stared at my ceiling for a while cause I still couldn't believe it. I was going to be one of three Junior Judges on a singing competition called Sur Kshetra. It just seemed weird, that I, Rumina (also known as Rumi) Noorzai would be on television judging people. I didn't think my countless books written about singing composition and lyrical structure would pay off. Now I wouldn't say I'm entirely famous but this singing competition would really put me on the map.
It still feels weird that I'm no longer in my bedroom in New York but now in DUBAI. If the first recording wasn't tomorrow then I would definitely decide to spend the entire day at one of Dubai's beautiful beaches. I had arrived in Dubai yesterday but missed most of the day because I practically hibernated for 15 hours straight.
I got out of bed and immediately fell. I guess my legs weren't used to not being utilized for 15 hours.
From my view on the ground I see the door open. Uh oh.
A short girl with mid-length brown-red hair walked in. "Hello! My name is Asma Qureshi and I'm going to be a Junior Judge just like-" She looks down. "Oh."
"Hiiiii" I sheepishly say as I get up, "I accidentally fell."
She gave me a confused look and I explained the jet lag.
"Oh I've been here for three days already." Asma says.
"Really you're not a local?" I ask.
"Noooooo, I'm from England sis." She smiled "Born and raised."
"I don't know how I didn't get that from your accent" I laugh.
We both decide to go get breakfast from the Cafe downstairs. Asma is a Music Trendsetter and gets payed for actively posting on Instagram and knowing when the newest hit song will come out. She tells me she's well-known in Birmingham for her Instagram.
I chew on my pancake as Asma continues on,
"Our third member on our team is Armina Sethi."
"Oh where's she from?" I ask.
"I think she's from France? Oh no wait, it's Italy. Yeah, she's from Italy and she is famous for being a skilled violinist. She's also a professor in Italy's top schools and created a music program all across Italy."
"Wow! That's very impressive! Where is she?"
"Here she is" A tall girl with long brown hair says as she grabs a chair.
"Hey you wanted french toast and hash browns right? It should be coming any moment now" Asma says.
"So hows life like in Italy, Armina?" I ask.
