First day of high school. I was just excited to be in one of the last stages of my education.

School... sucks.

School isn't just about education. It's about overflowing drama and awkward moments. But you get to see how people around you "mature"... more like how they grow up.

Being a 9th grader you are the low man on the totem pole, the smallest fish in the pond, and new to the high school life.

That doesn't mean that the teachers treat you like it. But the higher grades sure do. In school it's pretty much every man for himself. Like the hunger games but where your grade is your district and there isn't two winners.

But sometimes you can meet some pretty cool people who will fight through it with you. Lucky me, I couldn't find any of those people. Or at least in my mind I couldn't.

In middle school I had a few people on my back until something happen.

So here's the story of how my once called trust for people went to sh*t.

I started out my first day of school to find the  bus driving away from the bus stop as I rushed down the stairs. My mom just looked at me and gave me a big sigh.

I had taken extra time trying to look my best for people that I barely knew and didn't care to know. First impressions matter right?

My mom drove me up to the student drop off and waved me goodbye.

"Just know that me driving you to school won't be our morning routine okay?" She said giving me a serious look.

"Yes mom, I'm sorry it won't happen again." I said as I bolted out of the car full of adrenaline.

Not to my surprise though I had knew a few people in my classes from my middle school but none of them I was complete friends with. So I pretty much avoided them for the school year. Except for one.

Her name was Rein she was raised in a rich family that spoiled her to the point were she could point to something she liked and her parents would pull out their credit cards and buy it for her.

I never really liked her since she was rude to my friend in middle school. She would also date any guy in her path of sight and make her friends break his heart after she and him had been dating for a month. She'd just stand in the corner practically eating popcorn like it was entertainment to her.

Yet for some god damned reason I had to be the only person she knew in our study hall so she sat next to me.

We started talking and she seemed like she changed that was until someone we both knew walked into the classroom and stayed hi to us.

We started talking about school and how the first day is always interesting and all that small talk stuff.

The girl complemented my hair that I had recently cut and I thanked her. She then followed up by saying "I've been thinking about dying my hair"

"What part of it?" I asked.

"Just the ends, Nothing to big" she responded.

I nodded and looked over at Rein. She was on Snapchat on her phone and didn't seem to be listening at all at this point. I rolled my eyes and continued on the conversation with the girl until the bell ran.

I packed up my things and left the classroom of course bumping into some of the stampede while running out the door.

I had math next which my teacher didn't take very seriously with my class. "I'm a 10th grade teacher so please remind me that I can't be to rough on you guys" she said standing out of her chair.

She started telling us stories about embarrassing things that happened to her. Suddenly a student walked into the room who I had recognized. Taylor?! I hadn't seen her since third grade!

She looked over to me and smiled. "Here's my late pass Mrs. Dinski, so sorry" she said and speed walked to the desk next to mine.

    "I haven't seen you in forever!" I whisper-yelled.

"I know! Your in accelerated?" She said sounding surprised

"You sound a little to shocked! Yeah I am" I said laughing.

"Ah you know I didn't mean it that way"

We went about our math class listening to the teacher speak and laughing at all her jokes. Some of them weren't even intentional.

We were the only girls in our class and we sat in the front of the room. Our teacher would talk to us when all the boys were being loud.

Before we knew it the period was over and I was actually sad that it was. I didn't want to walk into a room of a bunch of people I didn't know again and sit there for 40 minutes listening to my teacher lecture on and on about science.

I walked in my last class of the day and I didn't see anyone I recognized. Every face was a new one and I felt out of place. I sat at an empty table. My teacher moved my later on in the class to a different table with people. We did a lab but I didn't communicate with them.

I felt like I was watching the clock and counting every second as if it would make time go by faster but it didn't. Luckily the teacher let us out a couple minutes later so we could go to our lockers and have time to open them.

I struggled with it as an attractive boy came up to me asking if he could help. Oh no, I'm in trouble.

"Uh... um yeah thank you h here's my code"
I said handing him a slip of paper I felt shivers up my arm as his thumb touched mine while he took it out of my hand.

I stood there trying not to stare at him and as I looked down the hall I say Rein coming down staring at her phone. Now I'm really in trouble

"All done here you go" He said while handing my lock to me. I thanked him quickly and opened up my locker hiding my face behind the door. I took out my backpack and shut my locker again to see a Reinless hall. I quickly walked out the door and to my bus.

"Ah new student on the bus." The bus driver said looking at me. I got that pervert vibe from him so I just laughed awkwardly and walked down the bus to find an empty seat. I found a boy I knew from eighth grade and sat with him.

"Hey Keith! Can I sit here" I said smiling at him.

He smiled back and nodded saying "finally someone I know on this bus!"

"Yay!" I said back laughing. Maybe this bus ride wouldn't be so painful anyway.
