Desperate

I floated hopelessly on my piece of metal, trying to find land.

I wasn't very lucky.

I kept thinking I saw land in the distance, but it was all a mirage.

The wound in my stomach ached, and every time I tried to move it stung like I was being pierced by an entire hive of bees.

I couldn't sit up, making it hard for me to do anything from eating an extra banana I'd found floating about, to just looking for an island out in the distance.

My family was probably off somewhere looking desperately for each other and me. I thought about Matthew. I could only hope he was with one of the others. And the girls were another concern. If they were separated, they would have a hard time thinking and making decisions without one another.

Jackson might have been really shy around me, but he always used to ask me questions when he was little. He could be very worried, although I doubt he would want to talk to me about anything.

Jonathan must be okay, I mean, if he wasn't it would worry me so badly. I definitely hope that no one I care so deeply about had any wounds like mine.

It was all making me feel so desperate.

I looked out at the endless water and noticed something floating. I squinted to try and see better. I suddenly realized what is was.
