The Gifted

-Chapter 1-

-1985-

It was raining outside. The professor took a sip of  his coffee as he watched the rain pour down. It had been a busy day at the lab. He had been working on a project to make a formula that could heal any illness. He wasn't finished with it, but he could feel that he was close.

His watch made a beeping sound wich was to remind him that the break was done. He sighed and finished his cup of coffee before walking back to the lab. He sat by his computer and began to keep writing down for the formula.

An hour later he desided to try to mix it up, but he knew it could be dangerous if he had made any mistakes. He put together the ingridients and the mixture started glowing a light purple.

"Yes it is working!“ he shouted and jumped in excitment.

But at that moment the storm outside got worse and a huge lighting hit the roof of the lab. There was a loud explosion and the professor got hit back at a wall.

As he tried to stand back up, he saw that his formula was changing because of the rain pouring on it and the lighting that hit it. Before he could do anything , his formula got out in the worlds oxygen, and infected it.

Little did he know that his formula was the beginning of something incredible.

The formula didn't cure all illnesses, but it gave some chosen people powers that some only thought existed in fariytails and storys. They are known as the gifted.

Some people uses there powers for good and helping others, but some used it for bad and there own greed for power.

For many years the gifted fought as heros and villans but many started going undercover, living normal peacefull lives. But some are meant to fight

-2018/present day-

~Jack's P.O.V~

"Bro, are you okay" I heard Alex say, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, just thinking thats all" I said giving him a small smile.

"Alright, but can you at least do that and also work“ he said with a small chuckle before going back to working himself. I laughed a bit before going back to making coffee for the people at the coffee shop.

I place the cups of coffee on a tray with two plates with a slice of cake on them and signal Amy that she can give the people there orders. She nods and walks with it to the table.

Me and Alex both started working here after collage 2 years ago. Its a very calm place and I must say that I love working here. Amy started working here 1 month ago and shes doing very good here. Me and Alex both work at making the orders and take the cash and Amy takes the orders and delivers them.

I looks at the clock. Its 18:55 pm, so its time to close the shop. We finishe the last orders and clean the place before locking it up.

Me and Alex walk back on the way home, talking about what to do this weekend. When we reach his house we both say goodbye and I walk to my apartment.

Its a little dark outside, but its warm just like always in Carinnara. Its very quiet and it always makes me feel so calm about everything.

After sometime I finally reach my apartment and walk inside.

"I'm home" I shout as I take off my shoes and walk to the kitchen.

"How was work today?“ I hear my sister Emily shout from her room.

"It was a very calm today" I shout back before grabbing something to eat.

"Like always" she says as she walks to the kitchen. I smile at her before eating a sandwich that I took from the fridge. She smiled back and sat down on a counter.

"How was school?“ I ask while eating my sandwich.

"Fun we were learning about tigers and snakes" she said giving me a small grin.

"Of course you are happy about that" I said laughing a bit. She gives me a small laugh back before jumping of the counter, accidentally knocking a bowl down.

Before it hits the ground I grab it using my speed and sigh, looking at her.“Please be more carefull“.

"Sorry, but at least you where able to catch it using your speed" she says looking at me.

"You know I dont like to use it Em" I say quietly, not wanting this to end up in a fight.

"I know" she says with a sigh before walking to her room.“I'm gonna go to sleep".

"Okay sleep well" I say before she closed the door.

Me and Emily have lived together here for about 4 years. Our parents died in a car accident 8 years ago and me and Emily had lived at a foster home before we moved here. We both had got the „gift“ but I convinsed her not to be using it in puplic, since I didnt want her to get hurt, and for othrr reasons.

I have the power of speed and electricity and she has the power to turn into any animal she wants. But since we live in a city that is full of superheros and villans I figured it whould be better and safer to just have a normal life.

I look at the clock and deside I should get some sleep. I finished my sandwich before walking to my room and going to sleep myself.

Oh wow I'm terrible at this.

Welp I hope you guys like the first chapter of this story (and the first chapter I ever write). I know I'm not the best at it but I hope you like it. If you see any fails in my writing plz let me know so I can fix it and plz tell me your oppinion. Thx so much for reading.
