Paris was in an uproar for weeks after the return of the heroes and the subsequent trials that followed.
The Zodiac members were quickly jailed and put in jail for their attempts at murder. Nathalie Sancouer practically bristled on the stand when she saw Emilie Agreste, and she had to be dragged out of the courtroom after her sentence as she yelled curses at her and Gabriel.
The trial that had everyone in constant debate was Hawkmoth's. Understandably everyone wanted him jailed for a long, long time. However, after Emilie Agreste took the stand, there was a lot more debate and discussion about what he really deserved. Luckily for him, he had never killed anyone.
Marinette was by Adrien's side as the sentence was handed down. Gabriel Agreste would spend a year in jail, and spend twenty years volunteering in Paris with different organizations serving those in need. Marinette could feel Adrien breath in a deep sigh of relief. Emilie was standing next to him on the other side, and she looked visibly relieved as well.
At last, the chapter of fighting Hawkmoth was over.
However, that didn't end crime, and the Miraculous Team was kept busy despite Hawkmoth being gone. The team met regularly in their hangout spot above Cafe Les Heroes and learned to work even better as a team. New villains popped up regularly with the return of the miraculous, and their skills were put to the test.
That year started their first year of university. Marinette enjoyed her classes and internships she took over the years, and having a supportive boyfriend made it even better! She still couldn't believe at times who she was dating. He was the adorkable Cat Noir and the ever sweet Adrien Agreste. He was everything she wanted in a man and then some. Even when they had their first fight about how much work was too much work, she knew they worked well as a team and could figure out any problem that came their way.
Adrien finally found his passion in physics and engineering. Marinette had to laugh at the fact that the extremely handsome and talented model would choose to bury his head in books and notebooks. However, the more she got to know him, the happier she became that he had found his calling. Even when he talked about stuff she had no idea what he was talking about, she loved to see how his eyes lit up with excitement.
There were a lot of rumors flying around Paris that Ladybug and Cat Noir had gotten married in some secret ceremony and were now an official couple. These rumors stuck around for years during their time in university, and Marinette had to laugh at them. Adrien, however, didn't find it funny, and he complained that they were going to ruin any attempt for him to ask her to marry him. Marinette giggled thinking about the fan fictions she had seen floating around and couldn't really blame him. He was really going to have to be creative to make it original.
She fingered the necklace he had given her daily as a reminder of his promise back after high school. She had been patient, but she had started feeling that patience wane as her senior year of university finally began. Adrien, always the gentleman, had refused to have her move in with him despite many of their late nights patrolling claiming he respected her too much to ask such a thing of her. She had sulked, but he had been unbending.
Then one day, as Marinette walked back home from classes, Cat Noir had swept her up and brought her to their favorite balcony, all set up with romantic candles and roses. "Adrien! You scared me! Why didn't you warn me you were swinging by?"
He grinned roguishly. "The better to surprise you, my dear."
"Surprise—-"
Suddenly he was on one knee, transformed back into Adrien, Plagg floating nearby with a piece of Camembert. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, I made a promise exactly four years ago to the day that I would ask you to marry me. Well, here I am, making right on my promise to ask the most beautiful, brave, kind, caring woman I ever knew to marry me."
She felt her heart beating a billion miles per second as he brought out a simple black box, opening it to show a beautiful but simple red and black diamond ring and a hint of a smile playing on his lips as he looked up at her hopefully. "Marinette Dupain-Cheng, will you—-"
"Yes!!!! A thousand times yes!!!" She cried interrupting him before he even had the chance to speak and tackling him to the ground, kissing him furiously. They were both crying and laughing at the same time as Tikki and Plagg watched with amusement and love from above.
"I win the bet. Told ya he would ask before they got out of university." Tikki jabbed at Plagg.
"Yeah, yeah. As long as their kids don't steal my cheese, I'm cool with losing." He mumbled.
The wedding took place a year later after graduation and with a fairly small group of attendees considering who was getting married. Not only was Adrien Agreste famous for his modeling, but now he was well known as an innovative physicist and engineer. Marinette was also a blooming fashion designer already setting up her own company.
Alya was, of course, her maid of honor, flashing her own engagement ring given by yours truly Nino who stood next to Adrien. Chloe was begrudgingly a bridesmaid, and even though she complained about it, she didn't seem to mind too much.
There were little hints of Ladybug and Cat Noir in the decorations, but they were so understated that you had to be really looking for them. And, of course, Marinette had designed the whole wedding herself, including her dress. It was a beautiful white with ladybugs and cats hiding in the lace of her dress. Adrien, of course, cried when she walked down the aisle.
The whole family was there, even Gabriel who was now out of prison and back with his wife. Many of Marinette and Adrien's friends from high school were at the wedding including Kim, Alix, Nathaniel, Sabrina, and so on. It was a great day, and the joy was contagious.
After Adrien and Marinette drove away, the parked the car and quickly transformed and found their way to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
"It seems fitting that we would end the day here after all." Adrien said winking at her.
She laughed and kissed him. "Thank you, Adrien."
"For what?"
"For everything. For loving me. For being the amazing man you are, quirks and all." She said putting her arms around his neck.
"Hey, you make it easy." He said grinning down at her.
"I'm serious. You fell for clumsy, crazy me. And I can't believe it."
He smiled. "Takes one to know one. Are you ready for this new adventure, Mrs. Agreste?"
She felt a shiver go down her at the sound of "Mrs. Agreste." "You bet I'm ready, Mr. Agreste!"
"Wouldn't think otherwise, M'lady!" He said taking her hand and kissing it smoothly.
"Let's go, Kitty." She said fist bumping him as they looked out over Paris. This was simply miraculous.

Author's note: okay, I couldn't help it, I had to do a wedding scene even though I'm up way past my bedtime for this. Lol. I hope you guys enjoyed it. Thanks for all your kind comments and the funny ones to! Makes my day! I'd love to write a future Agreste family fanfiction one day, especially since I love my own little family and I can definitely draw from experience. But as amazing as fanfiction is, always remember life will have its challenges and difficulties. There are no perfect people, but there are perfect people for you. Thanks for being awesome, guys! ❤️❤️❤️
