"So, what happened Yoongi?" Seokjin asks as he closes the door after Hoseok.
Yoongi shrugs, "I just got lost."
"It was more than that, Hoseok said you were crying and shaking."
"It was cold."
"He also said you kept looking out the window, like you were waiting for something."
Yoongi didn't reply to this.
He didn't know what to say.
Seokjin approached the now silent boy, bending his knees a little so he could see the other's face better. Yoongi was shorter than him, but only by a few inches. It still felt like a lot to the both of them, though.
Continuing, Seokjin asked the boy again, "Please tell me what happened?"
This time his tone was laced with sympathy and concern, making it come out sweeter and softer. It always calmed Yoongi when he was upset or scared, and this time was no different.
The smaller quickly burst into tears, hugging Seokjin close as he attempted to explain.
"I-It w-as cha-sing me-e, Hyun-g," He began, now looking up at the older, "Th-e m-ons-ter wa-s comi-ng f-for m-me!"
"A monster was chasing you?" Seokjin was beyond confused. What monster could he possibly be talking about?
Yoongi frantically nodded as he sobbed, and Seokjin decided it would be best to not press him further. He wouldn't get anywhere with the younger when he was like this, he's tried before. It didn't end very well.
Seokjin sat Yoongi down on the couch, where he bent down in front of him to try to get a look at his face. The younger was burying his face in his hands, frantically wiping away tears that wouldn't stop falling. His breathing pattern was erratic, choked sobs came from his lips as he began to hyperventilate.
It made Seokjin feel horrible, seeing his best friend so distressed. All he could do was try to comfort him with sweet words and kindness, but even that didn't seem to be working. At this point, the only thing Seokjin could think to do was make sure he didn't run out of oxygen as he cried, he was starting to run out of breath.
---
After a long while of watching Yoongi suffer, Seokjin had managed to reduce the other boy's cries into quiet sniffles. Occasional tears fell from his eyes, which Seokjin would wipe away. Yoongi was much calmer, but the elder could see in his eyes that something was still bothering him. Now was probably a good time to ask him again, he would probably get farther with Yoongi this time.
"Yoongi, do you want to tell me what's wrong now?" Seokjin started off slow, he didn't want the other to feel pressured into answering him. He knew Yoongi had always hated questions, and when he was upset he often didn't give a straight answer.
Just like now, except this time there was no answer.
Yoongi just continued to stare at the floor, as if he didn't hear Seokjin at all.
"Yoongi?" Seokjin asked again, this time moving in a little closer to the other.
Still, no answer.
"Will you at least tell me later?"
Nothing.
All Seokjin could do was sigh, there was no getting through to the boy. There was no point in trying anymore, he-
"H-Hyung." Yoongi suddenly spoke up, but he was still looking at the ground. Seokjin immediately perked up, ready to listen to the boy and do whatever he asked of him. Seokjin was always one to do anything and everything for his friend, after all.
