Matches

Staring off into the storm
Matches won't work in the rain
Don't let yourself feel
Shove it all down deep inside you
And light it ablaze.

Always remember to bring yourself up,
Let yourself feel.
It's okay to have emotions,
It's not okay to burn them.

So throw those matches back out into the storm
Let them sizzle out
Without those matches you feel vulnerable, and that's okay. 

If you keep your matches, all you will do is burn.
Never let yourself burn. 

Block it out
Don't let them see
If they find out you know
They'll never let you go

Keep it hidden
Keep yourself safe
When you show what you can do
You'll never be safe

That's not okay
Just keeping yourself hidden
Show you true self
And you will be loved.

Others tell you,
You're not okay
Others tell you
You're different from them

If you're different
Then don't let them take it away
If you're special
Than that is okay

Never let others beat you down
Never let others keep you from you
Never stay hidden
You're always okay
You will always be special,
And they're jealous because of that.

If you ever feel scared
Or sad
Or lonely
Always know
There is someone here for you.

If you feel like you can't hold on
If you're being swept away
Don't forget that we are here
Don't forget there are others too.

Always remember you're not alone
Always remember you don't have to be afraid
Because if you remember these two things
You won't ever have to use those matches
