I explained everything to Ayomide, and he was really mad. The man was so eager to marry me. After several pleading and a little play between the bed sheet, he agreed.
My wedding was postponed, I travelled, but alone, as Ayomide had to wait behind to help her.
I decided to head back home three months after, our business was booming as we've just bagged the biggest deal ever. My best friend sounded better on the phone, so it was time, I reasoned.
Come home, we need to talk, I giggled like a teenager as I read his message for the third time as I opened the door to his apartment. Has he been missing me that much? I thought.
"I can't go on with this anymore". He said. I looked between Omolara and him. Why was she even here? I thought.
"Why? I thought her therapy was going well". I asked confused.
"Not that". He said. "I can't go on with the wedding". I looked over at Lara and saw that she was avoiding my gaze.
This was the part they were supposed to say 'April fool', it didn't help that I had come home on April 1st, my birthday. But nothing came, I looked between the both of them, her hand in his.
Had my paranoia been correct?
