"What do you mean I have to go to McKinley Middle school, Mom?!" I shouted from my bedroom upstairs.

"You never applied to enroll into any other schools...that were remotely acceptable..."

"I thought you took care of it! I'm so not going into that hell hole, that place is filled with idiots and ghetto kids!" I kicked the pair of loose shorts lying on my bed onto the floor.

"You'll be fine, you have your sister, Adam, don't be a baby." I could feel her roll her eyes.

"But isn't she going to Willmire?"

"I was until your stupid ass didn't get accepted...not that you applied in the first place. How could you forget to do the enrollment process and expect to get in? You idiot." A brunette girl appeared leaning on the doorframe. A low rumble of disapproval and a sneer later she propped herself up and walked away.

"Shut it Katie, I'm smarter than you! You know that right?" I shouted as she left.

"Yea, sure Mr genius." She retorted, sarcasm laced in her voice.

Pouting, I didn't get up, it was a Saturday afternoon, only a few days until school began. I was suppose to have received my schedule at orientation, something I didn't attend.

In the end I found out my schedule through Infinity Students. I was honestly ashamed I had to attend school with a bunch of dumbasses so I refused to go anywhere near school until it started. That meant I was totally lost the first day of school.

The transition from Elementary to middle school was rough, I had one thought in my heart, 6th grade rules, being able to bully all the grades below you. Amazing. Elementary school had been a blast, and everyone promised to go to the same high school, even though we knew that half of us wouldn't attend a prestigious private school, it was a goal.

During the summer our father came to visit. He took us on vacation, in the Canadian woods, (I was into survival games, it was surreal) Katie absolutely despised the whole trip and in turn me.

Dad was an ex-marine biologist, and my mother a chef, funny enough they'd met when dad was on a blind date. They were always sappy about each other, Katie and I never understood why they split. Either way it didn't matter because my father lived seperately from us but he was still our father since it wasn't an official divorce.

I guess when I finally entered middle school I realized that they were taking a break from each other.

The first day of school was...dreadful to say the least. I stood out like a sore thumb with my dirty blond hair. McKinley was filled to the brim with Asians and Mexicans. I literately only saw 3-4 blondes and half that blonde population included me and my sister, (Katie becomes brunette in the fall and winter and blonde in the summer) I was treated like exotic cheese, everyone wanted to be my friend, I'd rather think of it as I was able to capture them with my charm. Katie says that I'm just so ugly everyone stares though.

Science class was the only thing I remember apart from that, there was an Asian girl, slightly chubby, jet black hair. We made eye contact a few times, each time looking away in an instant. She was short, therefore I towered over her, considering I was 5'11. I hated that girl, her constant looks and jitters from across the room, it made me realize that I disliked the ones who would never make the first move.

Seeing how pitiful she'd been I vowed I would never make the first move, and it was a promise I kept throughout 7th grade, but I would've never guessed just how hard that would be in 8th grade.

"Wait, are you telling me that Hailey likes you?" Kevin asked raising his brow, "You can't be serious."

"Why? What do you mean?" I replied confused.

"Everyone already knows that! She's been eyeing you down since the first day of school. She looks like she's ready to pounce on you 24/7. It's honestly creepy." He shivered as he contemplated the thought.

I chuckled, I didn't really have an opinion on her then, she was just like the others who were always trying to stare their way into someone's heart. It really doesn't work though as you'd expect. I didn't find her creepy or weird, just a little anxious every time I caught her glancing at me in the corner of my eye.

"She's not creepy, just...kind of...what's the word? Hopeful?" Kevin cracked up next to me as we walked to third period, PE.

"Yea...sure...hopeful." He breathed out between giggles.

-

PE wasn't co-ed that meant if you wanted to stare at the girls, you only had a few instances to do it. Though I can't say the look of a white shirt and green shorts was a hot trend. Standing near the roll call number, we faced the girls, who were on the opposing side of the gym. Kevin, next to me, nudged me.

"Asian babes or Latina babes?" He questioned with the most serious look on his face, I began laughing only to be met with a look of disapproval from the PE teacher. I stopped as quickly as I started.

"Asian girls" I shrugged, "it's what my heights for." Kevin nodded suddenly looking uninterested, "You're bland." He coughed, tossing me a lopsided grin.

"Everyone says Asian girls are cute cuz' their height. But they are so....normal."

"That's only what you think, cuz you're Asian." I retorted with a scoff.

"True." He laughed and turned away.

"You wanna watch my favorite clip?" Travis said with a huge grin on his face.

"Uhh dude we are in class." I whispered glancing at him.

"It's ELA we don't do shit." He said rolling his eyes.

"Uh no, we do a lot in here, you just don't do it." I muttered, getting annoyed.

"Just watch it!"

Having a phone shoved in my face was one thing, but the thing that played on it was another. It was a porn clip, straight from the website.

"Isn't she good?" He smirked pulling the phone away.

I sighed and looked around the room uncomfortable in my seat. That's when I noticed someone glancing at me from the corner of my eye. Hailey. She sat a few rows behind me, her stare made me restless. She saw she saw! She probably thought I was a sex addicted maniac now like Travis.

My suspicions were confirmed when she approached me during study hall.

"You sure are brave." She smirked and walked away.

My eyes widened and my mouth agape. Those were the first teasing words I got from her.
