One week later

Jack's POV

Math, Science, and Art, my first classes of the day were boring, as usual. Word had now gotten around the whole school about Jaeden and I's breakups. It wasn't the worst thing being in the school spotlight, but it definitely wasn't the greatest thing either.

Earlier this morning I noticed that Ellie started to sit with Talia, Iris, Maddie, and Lilia. I guess all the exes of ours made a group. And also, the most popular people in school, Jeremy, Sophia, and Chosen were giving me nasty glares. I assumed they heard the news, but they've always hated me and my group. Every so often we seem to steal the attention from them and it drives them insane, because they always want to be the talk of the school.

By the time lunch rolled around, I was relieved. I sat as far away from Ellie and her group as I could.

"Has every been giving you weird looks today?" Wyatt said, sitting down at the table.

"Yeah, I guess word got out about our breakups."

"Must be, but whatever. I think it's funny that for once the holy trinity isn't the talk of the school."

"The holy trinity?" Finn said as he and Jaeden sat next to us.

"You know, Chosen, Jeremy, and Sophia. There's three of them and people are always talking about them so I just said that-"

"Okay, Jesus we don't need a whole essay on it," Finn said.

We left our backpacks at the table and went to get our lunches. We spent most of our time just talking about random shit.

And then the weirdest thing happened. All of our phones buzzed with text messages at the exact same time.

You're going to regret that;) -G

I held my phone up to the others. "Is this what yours says?"

"Yeah," they all replied.

"What the actual fuck is this? Does someone think playing a game with us is funny?" Wyatt said, about to lash out.

"What are we supposed to do about this?" Jaeden said. He was nervous, we all were. We all put our phones down to discuss this, but moments later, someone's phone buzzed again.

It was Finn's phone.

Cancel that date with whatever whore you're seeing tonight, or else there'll be a creepy surprise at school for you tomorrow;) -G

"Yeah, right. Now they're trying to threaten me? I don't think so."

"You have a date tonight?" Wyatt asked Finn.

"Yeah. Some girl I met earlier this week. And I'm not going to cancel it just because this unknown number is telling me to."

"But how did they know you had a date when we didn't even know?" Wyatt said.

"He has a point," Jaeden said. Finn's facial expressions showed his nervous side. He's had anxiety for a while, but right now it seems to be getting to him.

"Okay. Just because this anonymous person is making me anxious doesn't mean I'm going to cancel on something that could put me in a better mood. I'm going to have a good time tonight, and I'm going to forget about all of this."

The bell rang for the end of lunch, and none of us heard anything from that number for the rest of the day. Maybe this could be a one time thing.

I was just about to head to bed for the night when my phone buzzed. Shit.

You think this is just a one time thing? You have made too many mistakes in your life for this to be over that quickly. -G

I widened my eyes at the message and turned off my phone immediately. I got under the covers and tried to take my mind off of whatever was happening. And for the first time in a while, I was genuinely scared.
