Chapter 33

I pull the trigger on Dylan. I hear the bang from the gun. The thing I down hear is Dylan. A normal person would be screaming right now. He just stares up at me.

I look around the room and all white. A few minty yes ago it was pure black but now it's changed. The gun falls out of my hand and then the weird part happens. I am back in a straightjacket just like when they were in my mind.

I look to where Dylan was and see no one just a white bed waiting for a lonely man to sleep in it. Waiting for the lonely man to get sleepy and open his mind.

"You're not getting anything for me!" I circle around the room. Finally I see the ten foot ceiling come and the glass appear.

The door flings open and then my mind starts to burn and my knees feel like they're melting. I fall to the ground and curl up in a ball. "Come now Chris, If you know what good for you and your friends then you will stop this madness and tell us the keyword."

I open my eyes to see Mrs.Lyn standing up straight in her high heels she wears."Fine I will tell you." Her eyes open wide. "It starts with an 'F' and then 'U'." I smile and curl back into a ball.

"Very well you leave me no choice Chris. The only thing you really had to do was follow my rules." She sighs.

"Well your rules suck."

"Remember what I said I would do if you didn't follow my rules?" I look up at her with glaring eyes. "What you did might mean I have to kill two of your friends." She sighs."I don't like doing it but it has to be done sometimes to get a point across."

"Please! I'll do anything! Just don't hurt my friends!" I cry out.

"Anything?" She says circling around me.

"Yes. Anything you want."

She smirks."Then it's decided. You will do two things for me because I would of killed two of our friends." I nod. "First, we will get the implant out of you. Second you will have a healthy normal life."

I laugh."A happy healthy normal life? After what I have been through? Unlikely."

"When we get that implant out of you head the only thing you will remember are the good things. I would like to say being here at S.A.I.D. was a good thing but as I can see it wasn't really." She turns around and starts toward the door.

"Wait? Don't you want the keyword?"

"We won't need that after we get the implant." Then she shuts the door and I wake up.

I wake up to see syringes, needles all the doctor thing a right in my face. I try to get up but something is restricting me. They tied me up.

"He's awake. Time to go." I look up and see the observation deck. I see Mrs.Lyn. I see a few other people that I didn't except to see. Carly, Hannah, Caelia, and...Maya. They look down at me with disgust like I did something wrong. When I lock eyes with Maya all I see in her eyes is...sadness. Pure sadness. She thinks I betrayed her. They all they I betrayed them. I guess I did when you think about it. They have their cause. Trying to stop the north and south from fighting. My cause is to try to fix that and stop S.A.I.D. from making kids play in this game.
They might think of it as me betraying them because they think the only way to fix it is how it's been going on for about a Century.

I stop looking at them and care more about what's happening right now to me. Doctors swarm around me."Whats going on? What are you doing?" I try to get out of the cuffs. It loosens up and right before one of the doctors is about to use some prickly think on me it let's loose and I whack all of the doctors somehow. I see the door and run for it. The doctors chasing after me. I open the door.

"Trying to run away like usual I see?" I look and see Dylan at the door.

"You know me. I don't like getting poked with things. I like poking people, for example you, with sharp pointy objects. Remember how I stabbed you with a knife? Oh wait sorry it was a gun. After all the years I have killed you over and over again in the game I bet I have stabbed at least once in that time." I smile and before he even reacts I feel something hit the back of my head. "Ow that hurt if that was one of the doctors I'm impressed-" I stop talking because I wasn't expecting to see who I see right now."Eva?"

"I'm sorry Chris. They gave me a choice and I took it." Her face glistens with tears.

"What was the choice?"

"Stay with you and rot in a dusty old hacker jail or help out S.A.I.D. for real and be with Dylan."

"And I'm guessing which one you picked. Choice two." Then somebody hits me again and this time I blank out for only a few minutes to be back on examining table with all the same doctors. Except this time they look pissed.

I back up at up at the observation deck and see everybody except Mrs.Lyn. Where is she?

"Start." I look and see that Mrs.Lyn has moved right into the room to watch.

"I thought you said you were going to take the implant out?!"

"We are Chris. Haven't you read anything about what will happen to a hacker if you're asleep during the surgery?" She waits for a response but I don't have one."You might never wake up."

"Do you think I care anymore. Do you really think that? You have taken away everything I live for! Eva and Dylan! My implant that has every single thing of my life in it. And then you have them up there? You said they didn't know!"

"I had to make you believe that you could earn them back Chris. All of them. Maria, spoiler alert, I never killed. You might not see but she is in the corner right now." I look up and see her. Her eyes meet mine and I get this feeling in my stomach. That I have disappointed her the worst. I look away. "Now Chris, when this is all over, it will be fine, you won't be a hacker anymore, you will get the girl you have always wanted and everyone will be happy. Your father will not hurt you anymore because you won't be the winner of all the games anymore because your sister will be."

"But I won't get the girl because we are in different areas. She is in the south and I am in the north."

"Really Chris? Did we really have that good of security on our files? It was a lie."

"There are so many lie nowadays I have no clue what you're talking about."

"The North and South being at war. It's a lie. It's just a story for you kids that are in the game."

"What about the hackers? What are they fighting for?"

She smirks."Nothing. They are fighting for nothing."

"I need to tell them!" She shakes her head.

"You never will get a chance to after this. You won't remember anymore." Then I feel clamps go around my hands and feet. Then a gag goes in my mouth. "After this everything will go back to normal. No more pain. Nothing." She stops talking and puts on her doctor mask thing."Start. And don't stop till it's done."

I look up and see things that I never dreamed I would see in a doctors room. Pliers, wrench, hammer. I scream. And then the pain starts. I close my eyes feeling the blood trickle down my face. The agonizing pain. After a little of biting down hard on the gag it comes off and I scream for real. "Make it stop! Please make it stop!" For one moment I open my eyes and look up at everybody. The blood and the tears falling down my face."Make it stop!" Then I black out.
