THIS STORY WILL BE EDITED SO SORRY TO THOSE WHO ARE NEW TO THIS BOOK. (SURPRISE!! I'M BACK..AND I DON'T FREAKING KNOW WHERE TO START -JUNE2025)

As I opened my eyes, I could hear the birds singing and the morning light shimmering through the curtains. I rise and head to the bathroom to follow my typical "morning routine". I cleanse my face and brush my teeth. After tidying up the bed, I make my way downstairs and find my dad sipping his coffee while browsing through his morning newspaper.

"Good morning, Y/n, did you sleep well?" He inquires, looking at me with a slight smile. "It was nice, by the way, what's for breakfast Dad?" I reply as I take a seat across from him, picking up a banana from the fruit bowl. "There are waffles on the counter, feel free to have some." He gestures while turning his attention back to his newspaper. I head on over to the counter, spotting a plate of fluffy waffles alongside some eggs. I take the plate and drizzle syrup over the now chilled waffles. I then open the fridge, discovering a carton of orange juice, two beers, and a bottle of water. "Gosh, we should really go grocery shopping." I thought to myself as I poured myself some orange juice. I return the juice carton back in the fridge and sat back down, my dad, not taking his eyes off the newspaper, says. "Can we talk?" I took a bite of the fluffy waffle and raised my eyebrow.

"Discuss what, Dad?" He gazes at me with utter seriousness and replies, "About marriage. I've arranged for you to be with someone, and it's my colleague's son." He straightens his tie and clears his throat. "I don't want you going anywhere today since we're meeting them later." I remained silent, frozen like a statue. "Me? get married?" I look at him incredulously, pointing at myself. "Dad, you know I'm not prepared for that right?" My tone shifts as he then grins. "Sweetheart, I always consider your feelings, but I need you to be patient and support me this time." He begs. "I understand that., but why? Why didn't you consult me beforehand?" My eyes meet his, as I try to comprehend his thoughts, questioning why he made such a serious decision. To be honest, he always makes decisions for me that I don't even want in the first place.

"This is so selfish of you dad! it's as if you're giving me away for business." I say, standing up and walk back upstairs, trying not to cry. As I dash along the corridor, I hear his voice fading, calling out to me. Sitting on the bed in my room, I shut myself in and try to think of a way out of my predicament. I bury my face in my pillow and scream in frustration, "Come on Y/n think, how can we talk him out of this?" There was a knock on the door. I yell, "Go away!" My voice stern. Dad knocks on the door again and begs, "Let's talk Y/n, c'mon, I really need you to agree on this." he replies. "No, you didn't ask before getting my consent, that's very not like you." I say infuriated. Suddenly. it fell silent for a moment then I hear his footsteps slowly fade away.

I get out of bed and in disbelief saying, "He's so selfish! and here I thought I'd be happy today, guess not. Goodbye to the single and peaceful life I've been dreaming of, guess you're getting married now." I then sit by the window. In the driveway, my mom's car arrives just in time. "Finally!" I chime with delight. Hurrying downstairs to greet the exhausted woman, I say with a big smile, "Mom's home from her business trip, I hope she bails me out of this marriage thing!" As she approaches the kitchen to welcome dad, she asks, "Oh sweetie, I see you're extra dramatic today? Had some extra acting classes? hmm?" She giggles. "Mom, that's not nice... and hey! I'm not dramatic. Dad arranged me into a marriage that I didn't even know about, how the hell should I react to that? What like, laugh it off and just accept it?" I gesture to my dad.

"Don't point at me like your mom's not in this." Dad replied. I glanced back at mom to see if my father was kidding, but she looked at me gravely, as though she were staring into my soul and consuming the entirety of my existence. In anticipation of her response, I narrow my eyes and say, "Mom...don't tell me." She begged with her eyes, "Dear...look. Me and your dad have no other choice, but to go with this." "Can you at least consider and agree with us? Please? I know it's selfish of me to be the main cause of this but, you know we need it for my medication, right?" She breathed a sigh, lowering her head. Suddenly, I felt bad, and my heart ached witnessing my mother pleading just for her to recover, yet thinking of it, there are so many options in the world. Why must I desperately marry a man I don't even know through an arranged marriage? "Mom, you know I can't say no to you." I wrapped my arms around her.

She started crying. Heavy tears ran down her flushed cheeks. Even though I didn't think it was a good idea, I knew that this would be best for us, for my mom. So, I decided to do it solely for her. I gazed at my mother as I withdrew from the warmth of her embrace. "Okay, fine. I'll agree. But! Only because you're sick and not because you want me to have grandchildren, okay?" I respond with sarcasm. My mother laughed. Seeing my mom get pleased made me happy. " Thank you, it means a lot to me and your dad, that you're able to do this for me." She grinned, her eyes glimmering.

3 hours later

You and your folks arrive at this fancy diner called the Red Diner in your parents black chevy. You're wondering what kind of people you're meeting and the kind of guy you're marrying. Hoping he's not a psychopath or something. Dad walked us over to a private dining room and knocked. He motioned for us to enter as the door opened. There was an enormous dining table inside, adorned with numerous chandeliers, making it opulent. Very opulent. The amount of detail in the space left me speechless. Dad advised us to wait for the Jeon Family to arrive after we had sat down. After what felt like an entire day had passed, there was finally a knock on the door. A man with a tall build entered through the doorway. "We're so sorry to keep you waiting, we had a little problem back at home." He says with a smile. Mr. Jeon, the one and only.

Dad grinned and shook hands with Mr. Jeon, saying, "Don't worry yourselves, we're completely fine, glad you could make it, Mr. Jeon." The young man, who appears to be my age, rolls his eyes at me. Well, huh? I'm sorry. How rude.  Mr. Jeon and his wife sat down to join us. "Son, have a seat. Don't be rude in front of everyone." Mr. Jeon says, gesturing for him to take a seat. The guy obnoxiously sighed, not making eye contact with anyone. Mr. Jeon looked at me and smiled, saying, "All right, now that's settled. Why don't you introduce yourself to this pretty young lady here?" I returned the smile and leaned over to shake his son's hand. Trying to be consistent, I greet him saying, "Hello, nice to meet you, I'm Y/N." He tentatively extends his hand and gives it a clumsy shake. Wow. Without making eye contact, he responds, "I'm Jungkook, pleasure to meet you." He's not even trying to be interested, such a jerk. It appears that I am not the only one who is compelled to do this.

To break the ice, my dad adds, "Well, how about we order some food?" "Should we?" Mr. Jeon gestures for the waiter as he hands me the menu. I whisper to my mom while I grab my purse, "Mom, can you please order for me? I'll get whatever you'll get." She whispers back. "Why? Where are you going?" As an excuse, I reply, "Just to the bathroom, please? love you." I excused myself and rush to the restroom. Looking in the mirror, I mutter to yourself, "I want out of here." "It's so awkward and it seems like that Jungkook guy doesn't even want to be there." Calming down, I sigh, "I mean, I don't blame him, who would want to be married to someone they don't even know. Carrying the burden of the choices that you didn't even make, very suffocating." I relate to you Jungkook guy thing. I quickly return to the table after washing my hands after spending at least ten minutes in the restroom. Mom pulls my arm down to sit and asks, "Where have you been?" I force a smile, "The bathroom." "Well, you're finally back! Let's talk about the marriage." Mr. Jeon laughs. Goodbye hopes and dreams

Mr. Jeon turns his head to me and asks. "Y/N, are you willing to do this? We won't force you if you don't want to." Jungkook rolls his eyes for the hundredth time, not taking his eyes off his phone. "I, well it's the best option, for my mom." I answer. You grin, holding your mother's hand, saying, "I'll do it for my mom." Mrs. Jeon nudged Jungkook's arm while grinning. " What about you Jungkook? will you do this for our company?" His mom says. " Ill only do it for the company, nothing else." He remarks. " We'll that was easy, I guess we have a deal? Mr Lim?" He grins at my dad, my dad smiled back. " We do, glad to make amends with you Mr Jeon." They shake hands. Everyone enjoys their dinner in peace while your dad and Mr Jeon talk about business.
