DESTINY

 noun

the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future.

Destiny is the fact all things that will happen, are going to happen. You have no control over the it. You could get hurt, and have no way to stop yourself. The way I see it, there are two ways to look at this.

1. Your path is laid out for you, so you don't need to worry about making difficult life decisions. Go with the flow--it's the only thing you can do anyway. Why worry about it when it was going to happen?

2. You have no control over your future--you don't even have control over anything at all. Destiny is absolute. You, no matter how hard you try, can't defy it. What you say, do, who you like--it's all chosen for you. There are no 'if's or 'but's. No exceptions.

With that said, it seems...there's a choice involved.

Do you believe in destiny?

If you do, then are content with being a mindless slave to something you literally--physically, and mentally--can't say no too? You can think it, you can say 'no' with words, but it means nothing. If you believe in destiny, then destiny told you to say no, right?

If you don't believe in destiny, then how can you prove it doesn't exist? Destiny negates all free will, all decisions. You can't think for yourself. Thus, isn't it fair to say that it's destiny for you to not believe in destiny?

If destiny does exist, there'd be literally no way to prove it. If it didn't exist, there'd be no way to prove it. It's entirely unknown--like God. From a scientific standpoint, it's easy to say God does and does not exist. With a thing like gravity, the world could've created itself. But then, what created gravity? Historically, we have many records of God on hand, but also other records of non-believers and their evidence.

So, if you don't believe in destiny, is it safe to say you don't believe in God either?
And, if you do believe in destiny, is it also safe to say you think God is real?

What about the opposite? God, if he does exist, gave humans free will, right?
So, by that logic, you could not believe in destiny but also believe in God.

But, there's this following argument:
Destiny, as I said, negates all free will. It could tell you to be wrong or right--could tell you to be stupid or smart; strong or weak. Which means, whatever you choose--whatever destiny tells you to pick--you could be wrong.

This is why I choose not to believe in destiny. I'd rather be wrong, and at least think I have free will, than be right and know that everything I do from this moment forward is chosen for me--set in stone with no exception.

What about you? What do you believe? Do you believe in any higher power at all?
