It was honestly the day I had dreaded, the day my grandmother and mother have waited for. Had I known I'd be subjected to such a horrible fate I would've run away long ago. The thing is I couldn't, I had my family's honor on my hands. Being my parents only daughter able to qualify this year round I had to.
It was that morning that I realized that within this upcoming week my life would change a lot more than I had anticipated. That this week would bring out the best and the worst in me. Growing up on the island I didn't know that I had carried such a responsibility, but as I got older my grandmother and mother told me more about it, and what would happen if I participated. It would bring honor to our family name.
