"Y/N GET UP!!!!" you let out a groan as your mother runs into the room and throws open your curtains. The light streams in and goes straight into your eyes.
You roll over and pull the covers over your head. Your mom grunts and yanks the covers off of you.
"Y/n you need to get up! The queen is going to be here in two hours! We need to tidy the living quarters and get presentable!" you sit up wearily and rub your face.
You looked at your mother and see that she seems panicked.
"The queen? The woman who runs this kingdom and makes fathers work days living hell? Yeah I'm good. If you want me to be honest tell the queen that she can kiss my ass" You lay back down and yet again pull the covers over your head.
Your mother let out a gasp at your words.
Everyone in this kingdom knew to always respect the queen but you couldn't care less.
You have nothing against the queen except that she makes your father work harder than the other men.
He worked more hours and did more strenuous work. The other men only had to fix the royal gardens or serve her, your father on the other hand had to lift heavy rocks without assistance.
Your mother pulled the covers back once again and glared at you.
"Get. Up." you sighed and angerly sat up. You got out of bed and walked over to your closet. You grabbed your clothes and hopped in the shower.
This isn't how this day was supposed to begin. You didn't want to wake up in general because your bed is comfy.
Having to get up because of the queen was the dumbest.
You got out of the shower and heard voices downstairs. You shrugged and got dressed. You put on a white button up and your tan pants. You tucked the shirt into the pants and then grabbed your socks and dress shoes.
You walked back into the bathroom and blow dried your hair. It was short to begin with and most likely would dry if towel dried but you still blow dried it to make sure.
You combed it back in the process and then fixed it with your hands once you were done.
You sighed and quickly put on a bow tie and prepared yourself for getting scolded by the queen.
The queen hated when people were late. Whether it be a funeral or a ball she wanted people on time every time.
You opened your bedroom door and walked down the stairs. You could see the guns on her guards which kind of took you off guard.
You knew the queen needed protection but you didn't think guns were needed. Guns weren't needed in general because none of the common people owned any, hell none of the common people owned any weapons.
It was a rule in the kingdom that unless you are part of the military or are a knight, you had absolutely no need for a weapon.
It was a smart rule on their part but an easy one to break.
You walked further down the stairs and all became silent.
The queens guards both jumped in front of you and held the guns to your head.
"I'm not trying to do anything jeez. I was showering and lost track of time" neither guard lowered their guns and you could tell by the look on your mothers face that she was begging you to be quiet.
The queen still hadn't turned around which surprised you. Instead she countinued talking with your mother and father.
You sighed and backed up and sat on the bottom stair and waited.
When you sat down the guards moved forward again and held the guns to your head.
You were tempted to just push one of the guns out of your way but you knew you would be in deep shit.
Eventually the queen cleared her throat and turned around towards you.
Her make-up was done very lightly, so light in fact that you could see her freckles which were scattered across her face.
It was cute, you had to admit that. Though she held a lot of power and could have a man killed within minutes, she still had a little cute glow to herself.
She walked towards you and put her hands on the shoulders of the guards. The guards both nodded and bowed theirs heads quickly and put their guns by their sides.
You were about to get up but she instead crouched down to your level.
That's not normal.
If you didn't stand when the queen was in the room you wee in deep shit. There was the exception to the youngest in the kingdom and the oldest. But if you were only in your twenties, quite like you are, you were going to be in trouble.
The queen held out her hand and you gently took it and shook it.
"its nice to meet you Y/n. Your mother and father have told me quite a lot about you." you nodded and smiled.
"Nice to meet you too queen Demetria, Ive heard a lot about you as well" She smiled and nodded.
She stood up and held out her hand for you to take, you hesitantly took it and stood up.
You all walked to the dining room and sat down for lunch.
Both your mother and father went into the kitchen to grab the food, leaving only you and Demetria's guards.
Demetria sat next to you and leaned close to your ear.
"I can tell your confused about my manner of speak towards you and the fact that I didn't scold you for sitting. You're the only exception to that rule. Oh and by the way call me Demi." You looked over at her nodded.
You looked at your lap and sighed quietly.
Demi chuckled as you fiddled with your fingers.
You looked up at her and gave her a questioning look.
"I will be talking to you after lunch...and don't be late this time, please."
