Y/N

Demetria snuggled farther into your arms, you felt strangely happy with her there.

Every ten minutes or so she would look up and smile at you, no words being spoken from either of you, just small stares and smiles.

Genuine smiles at that.

"thank you for..I guess choosing me to keep you company." she looked up and turned on her side, resting her hand on your side.

"Don't thank me. You were going to be chosen anyway." you were confused. Were you pre-selected for this 'job'?

She sensed your confusion and started to explain.

"you got to remember that I've been in charge of this kingdom for quite a long time now. When I first was in charge I had to observe each child that was born into this kingdom, I had camera's installed out in public to help with that." You nodded, understanding to want to observe in the comfort of somewhere nice.

"I noticed you when you were fifteen, you seemed...different per say from the other kids your age. Mind you I was already twenty, I had to watch for longer and analyze you. Anyways, you stood out. You followed some rules, broke others, helped some people, ignored others. You had great attributes from the start." Another slight nod, even though the attributes part made no sense.

You shifted a little, pulled the covers of the bed up a little.

Demetria chuckled and pressed her body closer to yours.

"I knew from the beginning that I'd have your give me company, the plan was nothing like what happened earlier, trust me, lust wasn't part of it. I wanted to have someone to talk to, eat dinner with, you know..the nice things" you smiled a little.

Demetria chuckled quietly and wrapped her arm around you, you felt warm and tingly inside every time she touched you.

She leaned forward and kissed you, her left hand gently placed on the side of your cheek.

You were both so caught up in the moment that neither of you heard the loud speaker go off.

You both paused, listening.

"Queen Demetria, we need you by the main gates. Please and thank you your highness." Demetria sighed and rolled her eyes, earning a chuckle from you.

She sat up, the covers falling from her exposed body, the light from the window making her seem like a goddess.

She looked over, catching you stare.

A smirk plastered across her face the whole time.

She grabbed her clothes and got dressed, fixing her hair and applying only a little make up.

"would it be okay if I come along? Or is that a no-go as of right now?" Demetria turned and thought for a second, she walked over to the closet and pulled out a big, loose button up.

She turned and threw it to you.

"Put it on and just lightly tuck in into those pants you were wearing." you nodded, swinging you legs out from under the covers.

You got the chills as the brisk air hit your body.

You pulled on your under wear, skipping the bra all together.

Pulling your pants and the shirt on, tucking it as Demetria had said.

She walked over, her heels clicking with every step.

She smiled and fixed your collar, tucking the shirt in a little more.

She turned and held out her hand, you both walked out of the room and down the stairs. As you got to the bottom you saw lots of guards standing with their guns pointed.

You looked at Demetria from the corner of your eye, she seemed unfazed, no expression as you two grew closer to the scene.

The guards looked over, a few of them looked straight at you and kept their fingers on the triggers.

Demetria gave your hand a gentle squeeze as you both got right to middle of the guards.

She gently let go of your hand keeping one hand out, ready to push you back if needed.

The crowd of guards split, leaving only Demetria, you and some random person in the middle.

You fiddled with the hem of your sleeve, not really sure if you should move back or pay full attention.

Suddenly you felt a hand on your shoulder, you turned and looked, a big burly guard had his hand on your shoulder. He didn't seem happy either.

"I-I..Sh-" you were speechless, scared to say the wrong thing and have a bullet through your head.

You turned and looked at Demetria, she turned exactly as you did, staring straight at the guard.

In a second she got mad, walking over in two steps and slapping the mans hand away. She pulled you back against her, her hand firmly holding yours.

She glared at the man and turned towards you.

"I want you to go over there," she pointed to the farthest corner of the room, "face the corner and cover your ears. I have quick business to attend to".

Slowly your brain made the connection.

She was about to execute someone.

"Are you...gonna...." she nodded quickly, motioning for you to go follow her orders.

You slowly nodded and walked over to the corner like a puppy that had been yelled at.

You covered your ears and closed your eyes, a few seconds went by and nothing happened.

You were about to turn and look but suddenly the shot rang out.

You didn't need to hear it or see it, whoever had been brought was now dead.

You kept facing the corner, scared to turn and see a massacre of blood.

You turned only when you felt hands on your shoulders.

Turning around slowly, you were face to face with Demetria.

She had a stone cold face as she guided you out of the main room.

When you got to her room she sat you on the bed, closing the door and coming over and next to you.

She turned you so you were facing her.

"Listen, I hate having to do that as much as you hate to see or hear it. But its part of my job while ruling this kingdom." you nodded, slightly scared to piss her off.

"I know that it will be on your mind for a little while but it will subside. I hope you can forgive me for letting you basically witness someones execution" you stared at your lap, not knowing how to react.

"I don't really know how I feel about it. I'm kind of conflicted. I want to just walk away but at the same time I don't" you looked up, Demetria nodding and listening intently.

"Not going to pressure you, your choice."

A silence filled the room, an uncomfortable one at that.

"fuck it. I'm not leaving you"
