I walked into the class to meet my soon to be class mates and I have to say I was more nervous than that time where I won an Oscar. I looked across to my publicist, she would have to tell the class the rules. Not that I wanted her here, I wanted to just be normal for a change. Shannon also organised for two security guards to supervise me for the first week or so. It felt SO embarrassing to say the least. What would happen at a high school? I mean, there will be fans, but I don’t think I need two security guards! They would probably just scare everyone off! I walked into the room following Aaron. He was my favourite security guard. That was because he treated me like a kid. 17 is still a young age, I needed to surround myself with coworkers who would let me have a bit of fun here and there. Aaron was perfect for that; he was like an older brother. Jordan was cool too, and he was so hot! But he was also quiet professional.
“Class, we have a new student. Her name is Elle Batey as I’m sure you all know. She’s come here for her last year of high school. Please treat her as a normal student. Elle, would you like to quickly talk to the class, where you’re from, hobbies etc.” My new teacher smiled at me, I felt like I was in year 5 again with the whole introducing you to the class thing. I hadn’t been to a real school for 4 years though, maybe I was just out of practice.
“Sure. Hey guys, I’m Elle Batey as Mrs….” I looked awkwardly around the room hoping for someone to help me out.
“Mrs Linkon.” She smiled; the class also echoed it quietly as though they were afraid to talk to me.
“Linkon has already said. I decided, as much as I loved being taught by my tutors,” I looked towards Shannon, smiling at her. “I would rather have a proper last year. Prom of one doesn’t sound too appealing to me.” The class laughed, good, I was getting somewhere with them. “Do you have any questions?”
A guy in the back row raised his arm. “So are you still filming movies while you’re here?”
“Yeah, well ‘London’s Elite’ has just wrapped up and I start the sequel of ‘Sand Dunes’ in July? Late June, I think.” I smiled back at him.
“Do you have to have like security around you all the time?” A friendly looking redheaded girl asked.
“Haa, Shannon, would you care to answer that?” I said, crossing my arms and grinning.
“Yeah, well, we can’t take any risks. Once Elle has been going here for awhile, they won’t be needed, but for now while everyone adjusts, they will be here merely as a precaution.” She said, as her phone started buzzing.
“Ooooh, no cellular devices in schoooooool.” I said, quoting a movie that I had done. The class cracked up where as Mrs Linkon looked completely baffled. I shot the class a smile as Shannon stepped outside to answer her phone. “I think we are going to get along just great.” I smiled, happy that they had seen some of my movies. I looked towards the back of the class where I saw a group of girls excitedly talking.
“OMG! She just looked at me!” One girl screamed. I laughed awkwardly, waiting for Shannon to come back. It would feel a bit empty without her being around while I was at school. She was one of my only real friends. Actually she worked for me, but that still counted. I could trust her with anything.
“Elle?” A girl with black hair asked.
“Yeah?” I answered.
“OMG! She just talked to me.” She said back to the group of girls who were excited about me being there in a mocking tone. Um, was I supposed to be offended? Was she trying to be rude to me or to them?
I leant in to Aaron and whispered to him “Ok, maybe I do need you here for awhile.”
He spoke back, “They’ll get used to you. Some are going to love having you here and will be massive fans and others might not be so pleased and think you’ll get special treatment.” He whispered.
