Golden rays flooded into the room, blinding Ari as she opened her eyes.
She groaned before stumbling out of her comfortable bed, before sliding on her hoodie and jeans, and tucking her red, shoulder length hair into a short ponytail, and throwing it behind her. Ari had been running low on food lately. Therefore, it was time to go to the market. Ari didn't like going out in public, she never really got along with humans. And generally didn't like verbal or physical contact. She was a quiet and reserved person, and has been for as long as she remembers. Ari grabbed her money and slid out the front door. Ari lived alone, and has been for 4 years. She turned 16 about a week ago, she doesn't celebrate birthdays though. She doesn't feel the need to. As Ari followed the path that leads to the town square, she bumped into something, or someone. A boy, about her age, with blue hair that faded into a green-ish color. His eyes a medium turquoise. "Hey!" He yelled, his voice deep and velvety, it would probably sound a lot better if he wasn't yelling at you. "Watch where you're going!" He scolded, Ari gives a quick bow in apology, and walks off towards the trail, a hand stops her, pulling her back to the boy she had just bumped into. He started "Sho-" an ear piercing scream came from a house nearby, a man with a large sack emerged from the front door. Ari agilely pulls both of her guns out from her holster, and aims at the thief's head, and the man takes 2 shots to the skull, causing him to collapse. She walks to the man and grabs the sack from his hand, walking to the woman's door and carefully sets the bag down on her doorstep. And carrying on with her day. Leaving the boy awestruck. After buying what she needed, Ari turned to the forest to relax. Flipping her hood down, she takes a deep breath. The woods have always calmed her down, she's never really known why. The sound of a nearby river's stream colliding against the rocks, the bird's rhythmic chirping, combined with the sound of wind gently gliding through the tree's branches. There was just something so comforting about them all. She heard a rumble in one of the bushes, brushing it off as a fox or raccoon, she ignores it. She feels something touch her shoulder, curious, she turns her head. There she met face to face with a boy about her age, with black hair that fades into a dark red, with bright red eyes. Ari jumps, surprised. "What are you doing here?" He asks, "Walking" she mutters. "This isn't a public area." He warns, "Are you going to report me or something?" She speaks a bit louder now, the boy glares at her, and digs his nails into her shoulder, earning a grunt from her. Ari manages to free herself, running deeper into the forest. Until she reaches a full view of the mountains, the sky a light blue, the mountains a desaturated purple. The boy catches up to her, and catches her off-guard again, gripping her arm tightly, Ari thrashes, but couldn't break free from his grasp. Finally, she stops struggling, the boy yells, "Who are you?" She was exhausted, about to faint, she let out a cough, and collapsed.
