Prologue;
"No. No. No. Oo." I scrolled through wanelo on my iPhone, zoning out. Rose, maybe that
isn't such a good ide-. A hard body crashed into my fragile one, sending me flying. Oh my god.
Rose! Quit being so goddang clumsy! "Oh god. I am so sorry." I blushed, still on the floor. Don't
look at them, don't look at the-. "Woah." I breathed. Benjamin freaking Daniels. He's the hottest guy in school, according to Tessa. If it was possible, my face reddened MORE.
He chuckled, handing me my phone. "I'm the one who should be sorry. I wasn't looking, and you're
the one on the floor." He offered his hand.
"Thank you." I blushed AGAIN, accepting his offer. Effortlessly, he pulled me to my feet.
"Are you alright?" Ben asked, sounding concerned.
"Yes, I'm fine, why do you ask?"
"Your arm is bleeding." He pointed. I hurriedly pulled the sleeve of my cardigan down.
"My cat scratched me this morning, it's nothing. Must've opened, I guess." He nodded.
"I'll see you later, Rose, right?" I nodded. Ben smiled, walking away.
That was close. Too close.
Chapter 1;
I rushed to the bathroom. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I decided on wearing my sunflower sundress, that stopped at my knees. On top of that, I threw on my black cardigan to match this morning.
My small, tan hands touched up the mascara I had lazily thrown on this morning, making me question if I look trashy.
"That was WAY too close, Rose." I whispered to myself as I fixed my curly blonde hair. It was down, as it always is. "Great first day, huh?"
"Breathe, Rose. Breathe." I coaxed myself. 'I just won't do it again.' It isn't a good habit, so the best thing to do is try to get rid of it.
The bell rang, signaling that it was block 4, the last one of the day. I hurried to my class so I wouldn't be late, but not before I grabbed my stuff from my locker.
Someone tapped on my shoulder. Turning around, Ben was directly there. My breath caught in my throat, but I sent him a small smile. Our science teacher entered the classroom, ending everyone's conversations.
"Hello class. How are you enjoying your first day of your junior year?" He received a chorus of 'fine's and 'alright's. Typical teenagers. "My name is Mr. Kollins, and today you will all be assigned your biology partners." The rest of the class groaned, besides me. Oh no. Who will be mine? My head whipped to each side, my eyes scanning the room quickly. I just hope they put part into our work, is all.
The boy beside me raised his hand. "Do we get to choose at all?" He asked, lowering his arm.
"Sorry, but I need you guys to do you work, not socialize. I will pick who you are partnered with. If you have conflict, or any problems with your partners, you may speak with me some other time, and they will be switched. Any other questions?" Our teacher questioned. No one spoke up. He clasped his large hands together. "Alright, then."
"Greg with Anna,
Shelley with Dayna,
Ethan with Cameron,
Wes with Caitlin,
Paul with Alex,
Sophie with Daniel,
Chelsea with Allen,
Josh with Ashton,
Ian with Paisley,
And Rosalie with Benjamin." Mr. Kollins finished. You have GOT to be kidding.
Some 'yay's and 'cool's were thrown around as people moved. Because our names were last, Ben and I were to sit in the back of the classroom.
"Hey, partner." He laughed as I sat myself next to him.
"H-hi." I whispered shyly.
"It's okay, I don't bite." A smirk made it's way onto Ben's gorgeous features. Yes, because the first thing I think of is you biting me. I smiled at him, before looking down into my lap.
"There is about an hour left of this class, so feel free to socialize with your new partners. It might be good for you guys to get to know them better. You will be working with them for the rest of this year, and all." Mr. Kollins smiled at us before going to work.
"So, do you just want to say stuff about ourselves, or?" I nodded in response. "You can go first, if you'd like." Benjamin smiled sweetly.
Clearing my throat, I spoke. "My full name is Rosalie Grace Marie, I am 16, and I have never been to a party, nor dated anyone." He looked dumbfounded.
"Never, like, ever?" I giggled, and nodded. "Wow."
"Benjamin, it's your turn!" I reminded him.
"Call me Ben, Rose. Well, I am Benjamin Parker Daniels. I am 17, and I go to plenty of parties, and have dated lots of girls." He admitted, smirking that signature smirk.
"Course you have." I rolled my eyes.
"What, are you underestimating my flawless ness?" Ben gasped in mock hurt.
"Why yes, I am." I stuck my tongue out at him. "What're you gonna do about it?"
"I'm not talking to you until you say you're sorry." He turned his chair so he wasn't facing me, peeking over his shoulder.
"I see you." I giggled.
"Okay, now I have no one to talk to." Ben crossed his arms.
"Well that's your fault, now isn't it." I teased him.
"No it's not." He argued. "It's yours."
"I thought you weren't gonna talk to me?" I asked, laughing.
"Oh yeah. I forgot."Benjamin stopped looking at me. I pretended to be upset, and watered my eyes a lot. Guess taking drama finally came in handy.
When he turned around, his eyes caught sight of my face. The look he had completely dropped, along with his arms.
"Oh, Rose, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." Score. He bought it. His arms wrapped around me. Why on earth is he hugging me? No, no. Well, he is pretty hot. I decided to take the hug.
"You didn't." I started laughing pretty hard. "The look on your face was priceless, though." His arms freed me from his gentle grip.
"You tricked me!" Ben whisper-yelled. I nodded, shrugging.
The bell chimed, announcing the fact that it was time to go home.
"Goodbye, Benjamin." I waved, smirking evilly before leaving the room.
"Wow." I whispered toward myself as I got into my car. "Just, wow."
