Okayy I don't think I can explain too much about this big dope of a slug, but what I CAN say is that he's based on an actual yokai that's only known to just be a giant slug.
Well, now that I think about it he is incredibly friendly with pretty much anybody unless they pose some threat to him then that's when he'd try to defend for himself. (even though he is pretty soft all around except on his somewhat tough back) also it might sound gross but you can lick the uhh..slug slime he creates all the time and it actually tastes akin to melted ice cream!
