*Beep Beep Beep*
I stare at my blinking alarm clock, wishing that it could just disappear with me looking at it. The time said 6:00 and I dreaded the fact that I needed to be at school for graduation by 8.
My school is the absolute weirdest, fucked up school ever. They have graduation at 8:30, because they feel for the "parents that have other issues to worry about."
As if graduation isn't shitty enough, I'm being forced to walk with my recently dumped, ex-boyfriend Andrew. He's been tormenting me for all of senior year, since I ended things with him on the last day of Junior year.
I had completely humiliated him in front of his entire clique of jockey, fuckboys because I had had enough of what he was doing to me. I avoided him at all costs that whole summer.
He came back on the first day of school, a completely different boy. He buzz-cut his hair and wore workout clothes, showing off his toned arms and legs to everyone. More or less, to impress me in the hopes of dragging me back into the arms of the monster I fell in love with.
I finally decided to drag myself out of bed and hop in a scorching hot shower. Don't ask why I take hot showers when I live in Arizona in the summer, I just do.
The shower was stained with red from last night and I could feel the pain in my wrists and thighs start to return. I never had any intention to start cutting, or self-harming, but ever since Andrew and I started dating during Freshman year, I couldn't stop.
I shake the awful thoughts from my head and turn off the water, heading back to my room to grab my graduation outfit. It was a simple black dress that went past my thighs to cover up my scars, and it had lace long sleeves that covered my wrists. It showed my curves perfectly and made my darker skin look natural. It didn't show too much cleavage, considering I was a C-cup, but I was self conscious anyways.
I put on a pair of black heels that we're studded with black diamonds to finish it off, no makeup. I was blessed with no pimples or zits, so I never wore it. My hair was short and very curly; I cut it my freshman year because I hated my hair. It was messy and frizzy and I couldn't stand it, but I made the decision and I've kept my hair short since then. It's shaved on the sides, but long in the front and back like a fauxhawk. I loved it.
I smiled at my reflection in my vanity mirror, pleased with my work. I was taller than most girls at my school, reaching at about 5'11" since Sophmore year and I stopped growing after that. My eyes were mostly green, but they changed on account of what I was wearing or if I was sick. I know, green eyes on a mixed girl, insane.
My Mom was white and my Dad was black, so I have that milk chocolate complexion that the girls at my school would die for. I don't see it.
I ran down the stairs of my two-story home after grabbing my phone and texting my best friend Lilly that I was ready. She had a car and insisted on picking me and other best friend Carolina (Carrie for short) up so we can look amazing going into graduation.
I walked into the kitchen and smiled when I saw bacon and eggs on a plate for me, knowing my sister Allison had already left for work so she could come and see me graduate. Our parents died when I was 10, and she was 18, so it hit her the most, and she also hot full, immediate custody of me. Luckily, my parents were both brain surgeons so they left us a good amount of money for us. I never complain, or take anything for granted. I may be wealthier, but I still wear thrift shop clothes and don't have a car.
I heard a honk outside and knew that Lilly was here. I finished my food and grabbed my purse, walking out to meet her smiling face. Lilly was always smiling and was always optimistic. She constantly knew what to say and kept our friendship steady since 2nd grade. I moved here with my parents and Allison then, and we immediately clicked when I saw she was playing with Star Wars toys. We have been inseparable since.
She had the palest skin for someone who lives in Arizona, but she never gets sunburned or skin cancer for that matter. Her blonde hair is long and reaches down to the top of her hips, but it's very straight, which is why she complains about it all the time. She has the bluest eyes that could stare into your soul, or just make you happy. She gave off that vibe often. She's also the same height as me. Carrie lives closer to the school, so we'll grab her when we get closer.
"Wassup beach!" I yelled and gave her a high five when I got into the car. One thing about Lilly, she hates cussing, so Carrie and I always say different things so it makes her happy.
"Hey Addy! You look beautiful as always, I am JELLY," she responds, starting the car. "Ready for today??"
"So ready, I can't wait to walk next to my ex boyfriend just for him to tell me I look like a boy in my dress," I say with a sarcastic smile.
"Must you always be sarcastic?" She laughs, shaking her head.
"Sarcasm is my language missy," I respond back, smiling with her. I turned on the radio and we heard our favorite song come through the speaker, both of screaming the lyrics to Gibberish by MAX.
We pulled up to Carrie's house sometime later, just a few minutes from the school. Her house was very homey, and had a cabin-like appearance on the outside, but the inside was even more woodland-ish. Her parents are big hunters, and fishers, always gone for some big trip. Lilly honks and Carrie runs out to the car, carrying her dress.
"Sorry! James didn't wake me up early enough, so I'll just get dressed in the locker rooms or something," she rushed her words.
"It's fine dude, I know your brother," Lilly says while laughing. James is Carrie's younger brother who's 16 and has a major crush on Lilly, but she's friendzoned him enough times, he might as well make the zone a kingdom, and he be the king.
Carrie shrugs and hops in the back, putting her dress on the seat and texting her parents about the times for graduation. Carrie is the short one of us, reaching about 5'4", and has a bob cut on her brunette hair. She has dark brown eyes, but they're beautiful like the oak trees in the forests. She is the quietest one of the group, never chatting unless it's only the three of us, but everyone knows that she knows pressure points and could knock you out quicker than drugs.
"Can we go already??? I don't want us late," she groans, tapping her hand against the window. Lilly and I laugh, heading to the school. It's gonna be one hell of a day.
Hey guys! Let me introduce myself, my name is blindreader2003, but I am not really blind as you can see! I just am blind to books and read anything and everything. I am so happy that I finally started on this book, because in some ways, it's the story of my life. Not in everyway I will say.
I have never written a book, so I hope you all enjoy it! I really appreciate if people read this and enjoy it, even if it does suck. I will try and update as much as possible, with my busy schedule. Love you all!!!
