"I'm right here, Asuna" | Kirito x Asuna

chapter one

She knew something was wrong. Why was Suguha Kirigaya's 'sister in law' acting ever so weird. Afterall, the girls were having a sleepover together, so why did Asuna look distressed? ...She couldn't help but wonder.

Asuna was leaning on a cushion, hugging a pillow while sitting on the floor with Suguha, watching anime together.

After looking over to Asuna several times, hearing sad sighs, Suguha finally resorts to pausing the anime and getting to the truth of things. The girl next to her wasn't just anyone, after all, it was her brother's fiance.  Even despite her 'complex' feelings she held dear to her brother, she thought of Asuna as family, Asuna was the girl who won Kazuto's heart, something which Suguha considered as more than an honor.

As Suguha pauses the anime, Asuna, who was barely watching, stopped spacing out. She turned to Suguha with a confused look in the instant Suguha paused the anime.  '
'Huh? Suguha?" An innocent Asuna replied, confused by her future sister in law's actions.

Suguha wastes no time in uncovering the truth. She puts her laptop away and sits in front of Asuna, looking at Asuna in a way that annoys Asuna.

"N-Nani?..S-Suguha?..."  Asuna laughed nervously as Suguha leaned on close to Asuna's face. "D-do I have some food on my face or something?..."

Suguha shakes her head and leans back normally. "Hey Asuna, what's wrong?"

As she had the question she instantly lights out the tiny yelp. "N-nothing's wrong, w-what makes you think that? she responds, flailing her arms around.

Suguha sighs. She wanted to know what was wrong but knew that Asuna was going to pretend that nothing is wrong. Suguha hated the emotional tactic Asuna used, always pretending that everything is ok and people should not worry about her. Suguha knew that Asuna preferred to hide her problems, rather than addressing them...this bugged Suguha.

Asuna smiled at Suguha. 'Suguha nothing's wrong, honestly...it's sweet you're worried about me, honestly, I'm alright though...-

Suguha responds with a quick fired question almost instantly as Asuna reaches the end of her sentence. "Are you really?..."

Asuna's eyes widen with understanding, understanding Suguha can see through Asuna's disguise. 'Suguha...don't tell Kirito this..." 

Suguha nods her head, letting Asuna know she's prepared to hear what Asuna has to say. 

Asuna sighs and gets off the floor, then process to her vanity table, opening a drawer and reaches out for her diary.  Suguha observes Asuna's actions as she does so. "A-Asuna-san?, is that?..." Asuna replies with a smile and nods her head. She then takes a place next to Suguha on the floor once again, only this time, clutching her diary to her chest. 

Suguha leans forward to peer at the diary. "So, this is the one Kazuto read? hmm..." Asuna's eyes widen as she hears that remark. "K-Kazuto told you he read my diary?!" A crimson blush appearing on Asuna's face.  Suguha flails her arms around nervously, not sure how to reply. "H-He said you let him read it though! S-so I just thought...erm..." 

Asuna lets out a soft chuckle. "Suguha-san, I'm only joking, of course, you can read it..." Suguha sighs, relieved. "Hey Asuna-san, you scared me!" Suguha pouts while Asuna pats her head. "Ah, gomen, gomen..." 

Suguha smiles nervously, then look to Asuna. Asuna sighs deeply, placing the diary on the floor, in front of both girls. Suguha looks once more at Asuna, leaning in to give the diary a read, Asuna nods her head, giving Suguha 'the okay' to open the diary and start reading it for herself.
