RAPUNZEL watched out the window as the taxi her cousins were in approached the house. A small moving truck followed behind. Well it wasn't really a house, it was more of a mansion. Rapunzel's parents owned a boat and lantern making company. She knew it was a strange combination, but that's what it was. It was also strange that the logo was a sun.
The truck and taxi stopped in front of the large mahogany and glass doors. The driveway looped around close to the house almost like there would be at a palace.
"Mom, Dad! Anna and Elsa are here!" She called for them happily.
"We're coming!" Mom replied.
Anna and Elsa stepped out of the car and stared vacantly at the house. Rapunzel scrambled to her feet, running to the door she opened it.
"Rapunzel!" Anna said as she ran to give her a hug. Elsa stayed closely behind. Though she didn't hug her cousin. "It's so good to see you, not really under these circumstances, but you know what I mean. I--" She rambled.
Rapunzel cut her off because otherwise she would start saying really weird and random things. "I'm sorry, Anna. That never should have happened to you." She peeked out from Anna's embrace to look at Elsa, "Either of you."
Elsa gave a thankful smile, but there was something hidden behind it. She was once so happy and cheerful...now she hesitantly joined the hug.
"Anna, Elsa," Dad said from behind them. The three pulled away to see Rapunzel's parents in the doorway.
"Uncle Thomas! Aunt Primrose!" Anna was the first to hug them. Then Elsa did as well. Her parents told the girls how sorry they were for the two of them and that they missed the kind couple as well. They helped them take their luggage and boxes to their bedrooms, which happened to be way at the other end of the home on the top floor.
"Do you want some help unpacking?" Rapunzel asked them when her parents left the room. The three of them were standing in Anna's bedroom. Elsa's was just across the hall.
"No thank you. I'll be in my room." Elsa answered politely. She walked out of the room leaving Rapunzel and Anna.
"Would you mind?" Anna asked, gesturing towards her three suitcases, and nine boxes.
"Not at all!" Rapunzel smiled.
"Thanks!" They started talking and unpacking her boxes that were filled with clothes, trinkets, and such. Anna even brought her bed, desk, desk chair, and bookshelf from her house.
ELSA left Anna's bedroom and entered hers. She had two suitcases and twelve boxes to unpack. She wanted to be alone so that no one would see her cry about her parents.
She cut open the box labeled 'Pictures' with a pocket knife and started to look through them. On the top were more recent pictures. Elsa at homecoming, Anna's eighth grade graduation, Their vacation to Jamaica last summer, and their vacation to Europe this summer. Tears fell from her eyes every time she saw a picture of her parents.
They were always so in love with each other.
Every time Elsa would talk with her dad he would make her feel good. He always told her to follow her dreams and do what would make her happy. And no matter what she decided to do with her life, as long as it made her happy, he would be proud of her. She smiled through my tears at the memory of when he first told her that.
Her mom was similar. She had the biggest heart, always cared more about others than herself. Much like Anna.
Elsa couldn't look at the pictures anymore. She pushed the box away and collapsed onto the bed. She started crying hysterically, not caring if anyone heard her. "It's all my fault!" She shouted, tears streaming down her cheeks then soaking into the pillow. "If I wouldn't have started ice skating in the first place," She got up and violently grabbed the pillow, "This never would have happened!" She screamed as she threw the pillow at the door to her closet. "I'm a monster," Elsa whispered to herself.
