Y/f/n y/l/n began deeply analyzing the curious man that had just walked into her flat. Her hazel eyes took in his sight at rapid speed, while her body stayed composed into the same spot she stood when he entered.
His body was absolutely corpulent, but his face, though massive, had preserved something of a sharpness of expression. His eyes, which were of a peculiarly light, watery gray, seemed to retain that far-away, introspective look. He had a head so masterful in its brow, so alert in its steel-grey, deep-set eyes, so firm in its lips, and so subtle in its play of expression, that after the first glance one ordinary person might forget the gross body and remembered only the dominant mind.
She changed her gaze from his structure to his clothing, and to the cane in his hand. She scoffed slightly in late return to the scoff she received when the older Holmes brother had walked in.
"Mycroft Holmes. You possess great powers of deductive reasoning, and..matter of factly possess it in a larger degree a faculty of observation and peculiar facility for deduction than myself. You are unwilling, however, to put physical effort behind these powers. Or you simply lacked the practicality. Instead, you occupy an unspecified role in the British government. You audited books for said certain government departments; however, your true role seems to be hinted as to be more substantial and influential.
Since you lack the effort to use your deductions, you've come to me, y/f/n y/l/n ; with the one of the best powers of deduction in the world to take a little job offer that will require me to become a working partner with your younger brother, Sherlock Holmes, to keep a close eye on him since he is fairly new to the field. My answer to your offer is a hard no, as I do not work with other partners besides my French lady detective Maēlys... Even she doesn't really work with me but instead just runs around with the police. You can see I don't care much for human interaction. "
Mycroft shifted forward a bit, about to speak when he was interrupted by her.
"No no, I refuse your offer on any condition. Of course I see you have a backup plan for incase I did decline, but I'm not sorry to say that such a interesting case as the one in your file upon which your holding won't get me to come with you to London." Y/n smirked, watching his reaction. As she observed though, her smirk fell slowly because she decided it wasn't worth the energy to keep the expression on her face.
Mycroft on the other hand, was shaking his head, unimpressed.
"You're smart. Smarter than I thought. You would make an absolute great role-model for Sherlock.""Flattery will not give you success, Holmes." She snarled, and sat down by her piano.
"Ms. Y/l/n . I can tell your business with clients has been boring you, so I assure you our cases in London are much more interesting." Mycroft stood, and fixed his posture. His eyes bore into her own, making her move slightly in attempt to get away from his cold stare.
"I know, Holmes. Maēlys has informed me of it all already."
"Than you know what you should be doing."
"What if I said I 'lack the effort.'" She shot back, using her deductions she made about him as a bullet to his head.
He approached her, and slid the file towards her by using the top of the piano. "Then you'd be a liar."
Mycroft stepped away while turning on his heel, just to make way for the door.
Y/n looked at the file for a moment before finally reaching it. Once she opened it, her eyes widened, giddy with excitement. "Holmes wait!"
He smirked, and stopped to listen to her over his shoulder.
"I'll take the bloody offer."
"Good, Ms. y/l/n . Pack your bags. We leave at sunset."
Then in a sudden movement, he walked out the flat and left.
