1 - House of Returns

Nina POV

I looked out of the taxi window to see the all familiar grounds of Frobisher Boarding School. A small smile appeared on my face.

"So where abouts am I dropping you off?" The taxi driver asked.

"Anubis House please." The grin on my face now uncontrollable.

When the taxi pulled up outside the house I quickly paid the man and hauled my suitcase out.

"Thanks for the ride." I shouted behind me.

No one was out there so they must all be inside. I snuck in the front door and heard Amber ask Trudy if I was here yet.

I made my entrance and I heard a squeal.

"NEENS!" It was Amber. I was pulled into one of her bone crushing hugs.

"Nina!" Everyone else chorused pulling her into a group hug.

Then she hugged everyone into individual hugs.

"Right everyone I've been baking all day." Trudy said.

"Truds you are truly amazing!" Alfie said.

We all laughed and followed Alfie into the kitchen and helped put all of the food into the table.

We talked and caught up on what happened in the holidays.

At supper we passed a message between Sibuna saying how we were gonna have a secret meeting in the attic at 11 o'clock.

After a few hours we all went up to our rooms to unpack.

"It is 10 o'clock, you all know what that means, you have 5 minuets precisely and then I want to hear a pin drop!" Victor bellowed from the bottom of the stairs.

"Now that is something that I haven't missed." I said to Amber as we were going through our things.

I grabbed a hanger and put my uniform on it for tomorrow. 

When it neared 11 o'clock, Amber and I quietly left our bedroom and headed to the attic.

We were basically catching up like we were downstairs. We all dispersed at around 12:30 since we have school tomorrow and we didn't want to be late.

I crawled into my bed after I said goodnight to Amber.

I drifted off into sleep.

I was saw my gran she looked sick. She was pale and she looked like she was in a hospital.
"Gran?" I asked.
"Nina, *cough* Nina." She said.
"Gran?" I asked again.
"Ni..." She started but then stopped and the machines around her started beeping.

"GRAN!" I shouted as I bolted up right I was sweaty and my hair stuck to my face.

"Neens? Are you ok?" Amber said looking and sounding really concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine Ambs. Go back to sleep. It was just a nightmare." I told her.

I looked at the clock on the wall 3:48am. I didn't sleep much for the rest of the night but when I did get to sleep I kept seeing that nightmare over and over.
