My toes were lightly on the ground. I was not going to let my prey get away this time. Before I could pounce though, I heard a large yowl. The bird flew away, and I had lost my food again. I was going hungry, so I decided to see where the noise came from. I saw something moving, but then it went away. Suddenly, as I was turning around a big white cat with black paws pounced on me, throwing me onto the ground. "Who are you?" I asked the tom. "My name is Blackstar, and what do you think your doing here you mouse brain!" I looked at him, "Mouse brain? Why I'm gonna-" Blackstar looked at me before I could finish. "Wait a second, you look like you could easily win in battle. How would you like to join shadow clan?" I looked at him with astonishisment. "Well....." I thought for a minute. Did I really want this offer?
"Ok." I said while padding towards him. " Follow me, and you will find our camp." Blackstar said while walking. We went through brambles, then I saw many dens. I saw cats looking at me like I wasn't supposed to be here. "Stay here." I nodded. Blackstar climbed up a tree and went onto a branch. "Let all the cats old enough to catch their own prey come for a clan meeting!" Every cat came fourth to hear what Blackstar had to say. "By naming apprentices we will show that shadow clan will remain strong. Angel from this moment on you will be known as Snowpaw. Oakclaw you are ready for an apprentice. You will be Snowpaw's mentor." The other cats started yelling, "Snowpaw! Snowpaw!" Blackstar continued to talk. "The clan meeting has ended!" He jumped down from the tree, then slipped into his den. My mentor Oakclaw, came over to me. "Follow me. I'm giving you a tour of our camp."
