Chapter 14-Where Leigh first saw Perrie

Leigh-Anne's POV

*flashback*

It's October 24 and I'm currently a freshmen in high school. I was a bit nervous on my first day but eventually I got used to the teachers and annoying kids in my classes. I'm in a club/elective called ASB. It's basically a club that sets up events for the school. This class can get a bit boring sometimes...like right now for instance. I was falling asleep but was awoken by my ASB teacher calling my name.

"Leigh-Anne!" my teacher, Mrs. Ford, says again. I sit up straight and rub my eyes.

"Hmm?" I say in response.

"Wake up, missy or else I'll give you detention after school! I asked you if you will be helping ASB tonight?" oh yea I forgot about that.

Sometimes ASB helps other schools for events that no one really goes to. I don't really like participating that much but the school that we are going to seems different, and I want to help. The school that we are going to is Lego Reef Deaf High School. I've seen shows and movies that had deaf people but I've never actually seen them in real life. They're just the same as the rest of us but I want to see them communicate with their hands. It's pretty cool in my opinion.

"Yea sure. I'll be there." I say before closing my eyes again.

I got home an put on my ASB spirit shirt. I hate that shirt but oh well I'll just have to deal with it. I'm in my room listening to music while waiting for my friend, Beth, to pick me up.

*knock knock knock*

"Come in!" I yell over the loud music that's playing. The door creeped open slowly and it was my mum. I love my mom. She's always been there for me ever since my dad left me before I was even born. Once he found out my mum was pregnant, he left. I never met him but I don't care. I'm the only child and my mum is all I need.

"Beth is here. She's waiting for you downstairs." I turn off the music and go downstairs.

"Hey, you ready?" my friend asks me. I nod in response, say bye to my mum and leave the house. I get in the car and greet Beth's mum who will be driving us to the deaf school.

I sat in the car ignoring whatever Beth is saying. All I can think about is the school. For some reason I feel like something special is going to happen.

"Leigh are you even paying attention to me?" Beth asks me. She can annoy me a bit.

"Nope!" I say truthfully. What? At least I'm not lying. She just rolls her eyes and crosses her arms and mutters a 'whatever'.

Eventually we arrive to the school and Beth's mum gave us long boring lecture about being safe right before she left. I can see where Beth got her annoyance from. We walk to the MPR (Mulit-Purpose-Room) and find our classmates.

"Mrs. Ford, we're here. What do you want us to do?" I ask my teacher. You can tell that she's stressing over this event. Her wrinkly forehead is a bit sweaty, the whites in her eyes are pink, and she keeps sipping on coffee. I notice that whenever she's stress, she drinks coffee. No wonder her teeth are yellow.

"Go set up the stage equipment. Beth, you go make the lemonade." she tells me and I see a bit of her red lipstick on her rotten yellow teeth. Gross. Her breath smells like black coffee. That lady needs to calm down.

Great now I have to set up the stage by myself.

I didn't even know what the event was until I saw a banner that says 'Talent Show'. It better be good.
