Weiss POV

After having a girl sneeze and nearly blowing me off the cliff, I had stormed away from her into another part of the courtyard. I promptly ran into another person, and we collapsed on the ground after colliding. I stood up, and as I stood up to yell at them, the other person stood up. Their hood fell away, and I stopped. The hood fell away to reveal a girl about 17, with dirty blonde hair, and a teal eye. The other eye was covered by an eye patch for some reason. I heard her say something, but I had gotten distracted by her. "You're beautiful." I said quietly. "What?" The girl asked.

I snapped out of it and asked her what her name was. "Luna. Luna McKenna." She said. "Yours?" She asked. "W-Weiss. Weiss Schnee." I said. I took a closer look at Luna's face, and I saw something growing on her neck. I stared the the collar of her jacket, and she seemed to notice what I was staring at. Luna quickly pulled up her jacket collar, and she looked at me curiously. "Don't you know it's rude to stare?" She asked. "S-sorry, it just caught my eye." I said, looking down at the ground. "It's OK. It's just body armor." Luna said with a smile. I felt my heart turn to mush with that smile, and I knew I was blushing.

"Oh, does Miss Schnee have a crush? Who is it, I wonder?" Luna said with a teasing grin. She walked up to me and put her finger on my stomach, and slowly began dragging it upward until it was under my chin. She lifted me head slightly, and she brought her face closer and closer to mine. When our noses were touching, I broke away. Luna laughed, and I sat there, bright red.

"I'm sorry. I took the joke a little bit too far. I apologize for that, Miss Schnee." Luna said. "N-no, it's OK." I said, still beet red. Right then, Luna grabbed my rapier and began swinging it around with perfect form. "Jesus, this thing is way too light. How do you even use this thing?" She asked, tossing it back. I caught it by the handle, and I asked "It's balanced. It's reasonably heavy. What do you use?" Luna shot me a grin. "This." She said, pulling out an axe that was taller than she was. She tossed it to me, and it landed in my hands, causing me to pitch forward with the sheer weight of the weapon.

"Jesus Christ!" I exclaimed. I let go of the axe, and Luna picked it up. "Heavy, I know." She said, twirling it around like a baton. "I'll see ya later!" Luna said, walking off. "Bye." I said. I ran to the ballroom, and mentally slapped myself. 'Stupid! Schnees must be perfect! That means we can't be gay. I do NOT have a crush on Luna. I do NOT.' I thought to myself. Even as I told myself this, in my heart I knew it wasn't true. I was hopelessly in love with Luna, but my name prevented me from being in a relationship with her. I sighed, then began yelling at the red-caped girl from earlier.

Luna POV

Crap. The Schnee saw the plates. I need to learn how to control these things. Anyway, in the ballroom I zoned out during the headmaster's speech, and I snapped back when he said where we'd be sleeping. When I learned we'd be in the ballroom, I nodded and walked out. I managed to find a training room, and I ran into a blonde girl and a shorter redhead. The blonde was beating the crap out of a bag, while the younger girl attacked a dummy with her scythe. I pulled out my axe, then asked the redhead to be my sparring partner. She agreed, and we dashed at each other, swinging wildly. After a few minutes, I felt the younger girl's swings begin to weaken. I swung harder, and she was unable to block it. She redirected the attack, but dropped her scythe in the process. I leveled the axe at her throat, and she raised her hands. "I win!" I said cheerily.

After talking to the younger girl for a bit, I learned that her name was Ruby Rose, and the blonde girl, Yang, was her sister. Yang asked to spar with me, and I put my hands in my pockets, forming plates over them. "Sure!" I said, making sure my hands were completely covered. I didn't want to break anything. We traded punches, and I felt one of the plates crack. 'I need to end this, fast.' I thought to myself.

I stopped playing nice and began aiming for Yang's unprotected areas, such as her stomach and face. She blocked all of them, but cracked a gauntlet blocking an earth-shaking blow. We stopped sparring, and looked at our respective gauntlets in shock. My armor plates had nearly shattered, and I nearly broke one of Yang's weapons. We did manage to fix it, and by that time it was time to sleep. Yang looked at me, and told Ruby she'd catch up. Ruby ran off, and we heard her leave. "Hey." Yang said quietly. "Hi." I said. "You're a really good fighter." Yang said. "Same to you." I replied. "Did your parents teach you?" Yang asked. "No. My family was....pretty messed up, to say the least. My dad killed my mom when I was seven, and I ended up killing him." I said.

Yang scooted away from me jokingly, and we both giggled. "My mom left, and Ruby's mom died a while back. My dad taught me how to fight, and our uncle taught Ruby to use the scythe." Yang said. After a while, Yang and I knew a lot about each other, and we had become fairly good friends.

After a little longer, Yang and I left to go to sleep. As I picked up my stuff, Yang planted a small, friendly kiss on my cheek. I hugged her, and we split up, Yang going to annoy Ruby, and I left to find somewhere to sleep. Oddly enough, the only free space was next to Weiss, who was asleep. I smiled the sight, and fell asleep next to the other girl. 'Today was a good day. Hopefully, things stay like this.' I thought.
