"AIDAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!" screamed his mom.
"Yes?" Aidan replied tiredly from his room upstairs. What does she want now? Aidan thought.
"GET YOUR BUTT DOWN INTO THE KITCHEN RIGHT THIS INSTANT YOUNG MAN!!!!!!" Aidan, heaving a sigh, said, "Ok, coming." Aidan exited is room, went down the hall, down the stairs, and shuffled into the kitchen. Oh shoot, Aidan thought, Mom looks cooking mad, I wonder what crap I did this time. With a calm tone she said, "What is this?" Oh crap, Aidan thought, I am about to have it..............again.
In her hand was his glasses, the frames all bent up. " You know this called your dad and I $200 dollars right?" said his mom in a low voice. "Yes." Aidan said, bracing himself for what was about to come. "So why is it all bent up like this?"said his mom, her voice steadily getting higher. "Uh.........Um..........."replied Aidan, a meek and scared look on his face."WELL?!?!?!?"screamed his mom."Uh..........I was playing basketball in gym and the glasses got knocked off my face and someone stepped on them." replied Aidan in scared tone.
His mom looked calm for an instant and then exploded." WHY THE FRICK WERE YOU PLAYING BASKETBALL WITH THESE EXPENSIVE GLASSES?HUH?HUH?""W....Well........I....,"Aidan stuttered, knowing it was already going to be pointless to try to explain."THIS COST ME AND YOUR DAD OUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND YOU WENT AHEAD AND WRECKED IT. JUST LIKE YOU DO WITH EVERYTHING WE GIVE YOU, YOU WORTHLESS FAILURE. AND DON'T EXPECT US TO BUY NEW ONES!!!!!!"
There is was again.
That hateful word.
The word that made Aidan want to go jump off a cliff and die.
Failure.
And the sad part was, he couldn't argue with his mom, he completely agreed with it. Everything he was given, he somehow lost it or destroyed it.Whether it was his jacket or the basketball goal that they had, he somehow always managed to screw it up. He always somehow found a way to cause someone pain or inconvenience. The only thing he was good at and found comfort in was video games and playing his violin. Although the words still hurt him a little, he learned to harden his heart and to push people away from him.
"NOW GO AND BRING ME YOUR PHONE.OH, AND BY THE WAY, DON'T EXPECT TO SEE IT ANYTIME SOON. ALSO NO MORE USING THE COMPUTER, AND IF I CATCH YOU USING IT YOU'RE GONNA WISH YOU WERE NEVER BORN.OH AND WAIT UNTIL YOUR DAD GETS HOME FROM HIS BUSINESS TRIP!!!!!!!!! NOW GO TO SLEEP!!!!"screamed his mom, her face turning red.
Heh, idiot,Aidan thought, I already know where you are going to hide it and crap, my dad is gonna kill me."Ok,"sighed Aidan, faking reluctance. He trudged up stairs and a little while later returning with phone in hand.
Today's the worse day ever, thought Aidan, as he trudged back up the stairs and went into his room, I had a real crappy day at school and now this. Sometimes I wish I was never born. Wherever I go I seem to cause a problem. My parents hate me, my so called "friends" dislike me for whom I am, and overall the world just hates me.
With that thought in mind, he started to feel tears well up in his eyes. He plopped down on his bed. Why am I always the one that's different?Aidan thought as tears streamed down his cheeks. Why can't I just fit in the crowd and be like other people? Why me?Why me?Aidan laid down on his bed. Why.....................me? Aidan thought as he drifted off to sleep.
