CAPITALIZATION

AND

P.U!N?C'T...U"A;T(I)O–N!S!!!!

Welcome to 3rd grade everybody!!

(I might offend people through the book but I swear I have a filter. Sometimes my filter needs to be taken out to be washed.)

Names! Places! Day of the week! Months of the year! Business! Titles! Every space in the word, the first letter needs to be capitalized.

And the beginning of the sentence.

New York, John Doe, Jane Doe, Massachusetts, Trump Tower (don't debate on him, let's keep this book clean please..... I'm putting a wall around hate. JK! I'm kidding...)

I'm able to understand spelling errors when it gets to this. You end up doing john over John but... 90% of the time auto correct catches that.

Punctuations are probably the biggest things about people's books I find errors in.

A lot of people do the 3 dots at the end of sentences for effect..... Anticipation.... Or the person's scared.... Or worried.... Or whispering....

Those are (to me) Punctuations of Effect. When someone's yelling! Or asking a question? Or both?!

Don't.... Don't do this?!?!?! That's not necessary 😂😂

"?!" This is fine. "?!?" This is fine. "?!?!" This is not😂

Most people when someone asks a question but the person speaking is angry they use a period, "What are you doing." And it looks more serious! Right?

You get excited with Punctuation and Capitalization. It brings life to the books. The anticipation. Especially when you end the chapter with........

And then you gotta wait for the next chapter to find out if Lucy got laid or not😂

Most people mix main Punctuations (?.!) With carry on punctuation (,;–)

Your sentences may look like:

She continued to run through the forest. She didn't stop running until she got home.

When (I think) it should look like:

She continued to run through the forest, she didn't stop till she got home.

Now most of you.... Like me....  Mix up what to use compared from a comma (,) to a semicolon (;)

I'm gonna assume this part so correct me if I'm wrong. Use the semicolon when you need to add something to the sentence.

Ex: She continued to walk down the street; until she got tired.

Or just don't use a semicolon at all.

Don't use too many commas!!

Try to mix things up with commas (,) and, then, while, as

Bad Ex: I washed my clothes, throwing them in the washing machine, pouring in the soap and turned it on.

Better Ex: I washed my clothes, putting them in the washing machine while I poured in the soap before turning it on.

And it's a bonus cause you just made a long complete sentence.😂

If you know you use a comma before, use an 'and'. And I know a lot of you use 'and' a lot so it's time to work on that.

Bad Ex: I jumped in the car and turned it and put my foot on the gas and left my house.

Grrr.... You'd be surprised what I run into.

Better Ex: I jumped in the car, turning it on and put my foot on the gas as I left my house.

It always good to mix it up but don't repeat an 'and' or a comma (,) more than twice. It carries on a long sentence and it's a little annoying.

So... This from my book This I Love a Duff McKagan kink (I'm a Guns N Roses fan, I kinda write a lot of Fanfictions)

I just want you to notice a couple things (besides the spelling errors) TRY not to start the next sentence with the same word you used to start the last sentence.

Bad Ex: I washed my hair.... I ran it under water.... I turned off the shower.... I grabbed the towel.

Please... Don't do that. It's normal if you do it for about 3 sentences but it's better writing when you use a different word. It helps make a creative play in in your writing.

Start it with Once, I, After, Then Next or something else. Try not to start the sentence with 'And' either. There was no point in ending the sentence if you were just gonna type 'and'😑

I think.... That's all I can think about. So far. I will update you if remember important things.

.......
