All Melinda Anderson has ever been taught is to strive for greatness. To always come out on top. Her father has always told her, "To be an Anderson, is to be number one". Or in English, "Anderson's never lose".

For the past 17 years if her life, Melinda has won anything and everything she's ever tried. Whether it's a bet on who can stay up the longest, or it's becoming Valedictorian (which she did).

Now, she has graduated Lantern Prep. Where her friends are planning cross - country road trips and college frat parties, Melinda is studying. Studying to become a lawyer like her father. The future has already been set in stone for her. She'll attend Harvard Law School for six years, long enough to get her Masters Degree where she will then work at her father's law firm, Anderson and Accompany. Then when she turns 30, Melinda will marry a fellow lawyer.

And Melinda's fine with that. Or so she thinks. It's only until after she meets Roman Hall does she reconsider her future. Now confused, Melinda must figure out who she truly is by the end of the summer before it's too late. With the help Roman Hall, Melinda will find out what a girl wants.
