Lexi woke up one morning to her brother's screams. Lexi ran out of her room and into her mothers where he was. She was speechless at the sight. Her mother had killed herself. Within the blink of an eye Lexi fell to her knees, rivers flowing from her eyes. Her brother Alex ran to the phone and dialed 911. Lexi was the younger than Alex, she also had a younger sister Alexis who was at their grandmother's house for the week. She was only 1 and a half which was about 14 years younger than Lexi. Lexi Would have another sister who would have been 8 today but unfortunately died when she was 5 from terrible cancer.

Lexi wiped her tears away from her face and went to her room in a hurry. She grabbed her phone. She knew the police were coming as well as an ambulance. But her mother was dead. There was no doubt about it. She opened her contacts and called her father hoping he would pick up. Just as the phone started to ring she could hear the police sirens going off. She looked out the window curiously as the police rushed through the door followed by paramedics. All of a sudden someone picked up the phone.

"Hello?" a voice said,

"HELLO? DAD!? IT'S LEXI!" Lexi replied in a rush.

"If you are looking for Ben Kelber, he can't come to the phone right now as he is probably away on his job." The voice replied.

*beeeep* The call ended. Lexi was so dissapointed. It wasn't like her dad would even care. Her mother and father got a divorce three years ago. There was no point. Why did Lexi even call him in the first place? She knew he wasn't going to answer. Could she be any more stupid? This whole thing has gotten Lexi confused and scared. Alex called out to Lexi and waved her over. Lexi didn't know what was going on. Was something wrong? Was her mother alive? She had hoped she was alive. She loved her mother so much. Her mother had got her through very rough times, like when her dad left to his job for the first time and when she first learnt to walk. Oh and when Alex would pull her hair because she had broken one of his action figures.

Lexi ran over to them. There was a note. Alex told her to read it, he had tears in his eyes. That wasn't a good sign. The note read,

"To my wonderful children, I wish I could still be there with you. Watch you all get married and maybe even have a family of your own. But I just can't take it anymore. Things have been getting to me, things I'd rather not write. Anyways, I wrote this note to say... I love you, I will miss you in the wonderful place above. Oh how I wish I could stay. My teardrops on this page are smudging the writing. I hope you can still read it. This note I am writing right before I commit suicide. Yes, suicide. I know you are probably wondering why. Part of it is because of your father, my parents, all the things I have been through are haunting me. The part I didn't want to say I have left out if you are wondering. I have been writing this for too long. I love you, goodbye. -Love mom."

Tears fell from Lexi's face and onto the note. If she had known this was happening she could have helped her. She could have been there. But what was the part she didn't want to say? Was it about her? Was it about all of us? The possibilities rushed to her head, How could she just stand there and cry? She had to find out what it was. Without thinking she went through all her mothers stuff vigorously. The police yelled at Lexi to stop, she didn't. Lexi kept going, she needed to know why. The police came up behind her and handcuffed her, the police were smart. They knew she wouldn't stop. Lexi was taken to the police car and driven to the station for questioning.

[Writers note: Hi I'm Kay! I'm sorry this is such a short chapter but it is the first one. This story is actually a story for a character I'm drawing named Lexi. The drawing at the top of the story is actually one of the drawings of Lexi.]
