A phantom thief revived after years,
Searching for a gem that sheds its tears,
A criminal who's once a normal teenager,
Kaito Kid's the name, the uncaught robber.
Aside from magic tricks and perverted games,
All I used to care was the vixen I can't tame,
A girl who seemed to have a grudge on me,
And the girl I've been in love with secretly.
But then everything changed when I was made aware,
Of the true identity of my late father,
I knew the truth when I was brought to his lair,
About him being a criminal, and about his murder.
Now, to a mission I have on my shoulders,
That I should carry out until I die,
I'll find the gem, the truth, and his killers,
But the only problem is, I have to lie.
I have to lie to the girl I've been with for ages,
To protect her and to fulfill my promise,
She mustn't know that the thief and I are the same person,
Especially that her father aims for my apprehension.
But living behind this mask isn't as easy as you think,
I've learned that I just can't get everything with a wink,
But I swear on my father's grave that I shall not sink,
Or else I'll lose all that I've thrived in just a blink.
The police may want me to be put behind bars,
Not to mention the half pint detective aiming for my fall,
And yet, I'll never fail, nor even stumble,
Even if it causes the world to scream for wars.
So for now, I'll remain as the man in white,
Who appears by the moon on a special night,
Though a part of what I'm doing isn't right,
I vow to put the truth to light.
But the time will come that I will rise,
Like a free bird, not with this disguise,
And the time will come that I'll steal no more,
For I'll surely win my own Pandora's gem, my treasure.
