DETECTIVE KING HAD been undercover for a year, eventually taking down one of the many sex trafficking rings that lingered the streets of New York City. When the news reached Sergeant Olivia Benson, she wanted Detective King back on her squad.
So the Sergeant gave Louise King a call, telling her what she wanted and the detective gladly took the offer. Olivia had explained that they had lost a detective and another one of their detectives, Amanda Rollins, was pregnant, causing them to be short staffed. The timing couldn't have been more perfect.
Louise King had moved back into her apartment and called up one of her old friends, Beatrice Ray. The two had made plans to go to their favorite bar, Bentley's to grab a drink before Louise started her job the next morning.
The two met for dinner before making their way to the bar. It had been at least two hours of them scoping out the place before Beatrice judged her friend.
"He's checking you out," Beatrice smirked at her friend, causing Louise to roll her eyes.
"Which one?" The young woman asked. Beatrice led her eyes to the tall man with blue eyes.
Louise just shook her head and took another drink from her cup, "No way,"
"Why not Lou? Come on! He's cute!"
"He's a lawyer, no doubt. I don't do lawyers." She responded, thoughts of her last relationship swirling her mind.
"You don't have to date him," Beatrice rolled her eyes. "You do whatever, I'm gonna go because Mr. 'I'm a lawyer' is making his way over here."
Before Lou could grab her arm to pull her back, she was already off and the man had walked up to her table.
"Looks like you dropped something," He told her.
Embarrassed, Louise began to look around, "Really? What?"
"You're standards, hi I'm Dominick, but you can call me Sonny."
Lou had been caught off guard and began laughing, surprised that he had a few jokes in him.
"That was good, Sonny," She said, her laughter slowly dying down.
The two shook hands and Sonny spoke up once more, "Good enough to get your name?"
"We'll see," She smirked, finishing up what was left in her glass cup.
"How about I buy you a drink?" Lou just nodded and followed the man with blue eyes to the bar.
