Demi gets out of the shower and walks into her bedroom, whistling happily. Stella is waiting for her "Good morning"

"You're late. We were supposed to meet Benny at the witch house in ten minutes" Stella reminds her.

"Relax, sister. You don't want your hair to fall out"

"Would you hurry up? We have work to do. You know, Colette isn't gonna spontaneously self-destruct. Why are you all chipper?" Stella asks.

"No reason. Be with you in a minute"

High School

Eliot is decorating Carlisle's locker for his birthday. "Hey, sorry I'm late, I...I got held up" Benny shows up.

"It's okay. I just got here too. Can you pass me the balloons? Thanks. What got you running late?" Eliot asks.

"I was...working on some new spells. You?"

"Working out with Althea. So, I have something I need to tell you, and you're not gonna like it"

"What happened?" Benny asks.

"Jemma is gonna be leaving town for a while. She'll be staying with some old family friends in Denver, until this whole Colette things blows over" Eliot tells him.

"Jemma wouldn't just leave you to deal with Colette on your own" Benny tells him confused.

"I know...I asked Demi to compel her" Eliot admits.

"You what?"

"I know, Benny. But it's not safe for her here anymore. Leaving will give her a better life. The only reason I'm telling you is because I know that you two haven't really worked out your stuff. And I thought that maybe you'd wanna say goodbye"

Benny looks at Jemma who is in the background and makes a disapproving face.

Forbes Residence

Carlisle walks into his house and puts his stuff down. All of a sudden Eliot, Macy and Benny jump out with balloons, party hats and a sign. They yell surprise. "Happy birthday!" Macy shouts.

"What are you guys doing here?" Carlisle asks.

"Well you blew off school and missed our work of birthday art, so..." Eliot takes off the crown he's wearing and put it on Carlisle's head.

"Change into warmer clothes, we are going to the falls. S'mores, camp fire..." Benny tells him.

"Cake! Like when we were little" Eliot reminds him.

"Except for the tequila!" Macy sing-songs.

"Thanks, guys. Really, um, I'm just not feeling my birthday this year" Carlisle tells them.

"I'm sorry, what? You've already claimed your birthday as everyone's favorite day of the year" Benny reminds him.

"Yeah, and now, it's just a reminder that technically, I'm dead. Look, I didn't even like 17. And the only point to being 17 is to get to 18. It's a filler year; I'm stuck in a filler year" Carlisle explains.

"You're not stuck, Carlisle" Eliot mutters.

"Yeah I am, but it's okay. You know, it's all good, I'll be fine. But I just need some time to wallow in it"
