Our story begins with me getting a text. A text that would change not only that day for me, but would change my life forever.

I was sitting on my bed, 18 year old me just got out of high school two months ago, waking up at 11 or 11:45 am every day since I graduated. I was texting my boyfriend that I just got back together with a month ago "Good morning" but all of a sudden after texting him and my best guy friend Jax the same "Good Morning" text I hear the little *PATING* of my Facebook messenger. I then saw a name I haven't seen pop up on my phone in what felt like years, but was only months. Him...my summer love. Last summer I hung out with this guy EVERYDAY, I was in-love with him, and he was in-love with me. But, things (and people) got in the way of us being able to be together. Also, me being a year older than him, my parents not liking his "past" and current decisions witch have resulted in him being stabbed and going to Juvenal hall for two months. After a while, we decided we can't do long distance especially since he was leaving his adoptive mom to live with his real mom three cities away from me. He also just had a lot of thinking time in Juvenal hall after only writing me back two letters. It seemed unreal to see his name pop up on my phone again, especially after so long. I honestly thought he forgot about me, that he didn't care about me anymore. All I could think to myself was "Why now, especially right after I get back with my boyfriend, why now." He broke my heart when he left...I was hesitant to reply to his "Hey" at 12:05 in the afternoon, me in mid waking up mode. I felt unprepared, nervous, my heart was racing, I then took a deep breath and replied "Hey" back, knowing I would be looking forward to the messages after it for the next couple of minuets, maybe even hours...if I was lucky.
