it all started with the holy war.

a brother against a brother,

an angel against a god.

ichor is thick in the snarling mouths of divinity,

in the mouths of those who bear their teeth at the creator

and turn their backs against his benevolence.

michael raises his sword. the order is shattered.

teeth turn into fangs and nails turn into claws and there are feathers covered in blood as wings are ripped from flesh.

their halos crack and turn grey,

there's screaming and shrieking and crying as the sky opens and heaven becomes darker than any of them could have ever imagined.

a blade rests against the neck of the one who believed that he could overthrow the trinity.

there's a shout and a cry, michael's voice is firm but it shakes as he recites a prayer and rebukes his brothers' name,

and with a single swing, six wings fall to the ground.

thunder booms as lucifer falls from paradise.

his own tears burn his skin.

he curses the father.

he curses the son.

he curses the brother.

the holy spirit knows.
