"Dirk!! DIIIRRRRK!!" Jake shouted, knocking on Dirk's apartment door. He knew that Dirk was home, yet after the argument the other night, Dirk wouldn't answer the door, calls and texts from Jake.

Jake was about to leave, when he remembered a technique he learnt on the island. Picking the door open with a twig. But in this case, on the 500th floor of a Texan apartment in the middle of the city, there were no twigs or nearby trees. So he decided to go down a floor and ask for a paperclip.

Once he had obtained the paperclip, he ran up the stairs to the next floor up.

Twisting the paperclip so it was only a long thin wire, he carefully jammed it into the keyhole, moving it around slightly.

He could hear a click from the door unlocking, and Jake continued into the house.

All around were... What did the Striders call them again? Oh! Smuppets. There were loads strewn around in all different colours. Jake shuffled through them as he continued to Dirk's room. He opened Dirk's door, and there Dirk was, on the internet, updating his porn blog or whatever it was, listening to some weird rap song, and from what he could hear, the only lyrics were 'ass ass ass ass ass ass ass ass stop, now make that motherfucker hammertime'.

Jake timidly tapped Dirk's shoulder, and Dirk jumped and immediatly turned around, angry face and all, but his eyes were hidded behind shades.

"Dirk..." he mumbled

"I'm sorry for everything," he whispered

Dirk stared back, expressionless, but he was still angry with Jake, and wanted a full apology. Maybe he wanted Jake to beg for their friendship again.

Dirk turned back to his computer, flipping tabs and going on another website, which Jake used to see him on constantly. "Leave," he said, with a somewhat firmness in his voice.

Jake stood there, shocked.

"Dirk... I..."

"I said leave."

"I'M NOT GOING TO" Jake shouted, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"DIRK OKAY I'M SORRY FOR WHAT I DID. I DIDN'T MEAN TO UPSET YOU. I WAS UNDER STRESS AND..."

Dirk looked back at Jake

"I love you..." Jake mumbled.

Jake knew that Dirk was going to ignore his apology, so he ran to the front door, and left. Dirk was still turned around, and in his mind were the faults in their relationship and what Jake had just said.
