"You do know that it's rude to spy on people, don't you Marinette?" Adrien's voice echoed behind the spying blunette. She jumped slightly at the sudden intervention and flushed a deep red colour.
"Oh-Oh Uh, Um, yeah?", she finally managed to get out once she got over the shock.
"So who are you spying on anyway?", Adrien asked, with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
"Um..um..no..one?", she replied uncertainly.
Adrien strode over to her side and looked through the stair railings himself. In front of him, some distance away were Alya and Nino.
"So, what ship name do you have in mind for the two of them?", he abruptly asked.
"Wha- Uh um.."
"Oh come on! You can tell me! Mine is Alino."
Marinette giggled before replying sassily, "Nice one but mine is better. DJWIFI. Like the sound of that?"
Adrien could only stare at her. Sure, he had heard her talk to others like that but with him, it was for the first time.
'Maybe she is finally getting comfortable around me.', he thought.
He flashed her a smile and she responded back with one herself.
"Mmh. Yours is kinda better. Hey! Look at Nino! He's all flustered. Man! He is never gonna hear the end of this!" Adrien exclaimed excitedly.
"And Alya will kill me if she knew that I was spying on her. That's kinda her job!" Marinette laughed.
"Anyway, enough to about those two. Now, what about us?"
"Wha-What mean you do?" Marinette blurted out.
"Actually, that's what I came here for. When do you think we should work together again?"
Realisation hit Marinette hard in the head. 'Right the project!', she thought.
'Umm..how about to-today? Same time?"
"Sounds purrfect."
Silence.
"Did you just make a cat pun?" Marinette asked, with an accusing glare?
"Maybe..", Adrien gulped.
Now it was Marinette's turn to just stare. Adrien awkwardly cleared his throat and added, "Umm..Chat Noir fan."
Marinette snapped back to her senses and exclaimed, "Oh! Yeah! Mm..That's right!"
The sound of the bell ringing echoed through the courtyard. It was soon filled with swarming students as it was time to go home.
"Walk with me?"
"S-Sure. I love you. I-I mean- I'd love to."
Adrien chuckled, finding her adorable. Again, wait, what?
The two of them walked outside together. It was cloudy out, the sky darkened. Then, lightning struck.
