I was waiting with my friend who was travelling with me. It was his first time flying but not mine, I had travelled five times, once to Italy and France and three times to Germany. Last time I travelled was two years ago, when I was 16 so I was still worried that something could go wrong, but fortunately nothing did.
When we had showed are passports to the woman behind the desc we boarded the plane which was almost full. I finally reached the row and seats I had booked, with my friend behind me who was struggling to get past the people who were lifting up there suitcases up to the space above there seats.
I was sitting on my seat fastening my seatbelt and listening to the person explaining what to do incase of an emergency. I would't say I was listening too much since I had zoned out after the person had explained the part about incase we were to land in water.
After the person had finished
explaining what no one cared about I put my headphones on and started to listen to music while taking out my headphones and putting flightmode on.
I looked over to my friend as to make shure he wasn't having a heart attack or something like that but as soon as we had taken of he fell into a deep aleep.
After about twenty minutes I woke up and felt that the whole plane was shaking as if there was really bad terbulance, at least that is what the pilot
blamed it on. I started worrying since I had felt normal terbulance before and this was much more powerful and lasted longer. This is when I looked out of the window and saw the wing. There was something coming out of it, something black, SMOKE! "Is that smoke?" I asked my friend who then looked out of the window and I saw his jaw drop. "Y- yes
i- it is. I pressed the button that you normally press if you need a drink or something to eat. The stewardess immediately saw the red light over my head and started walking over to me, though it was difficult because of the amount of terbulance and her high heels.
When she had wobbled over to me she lookes over at me and opend her mouth to say something but immediately closed it againg when she saw the fire and smoke coming out of the wing and wobbled to the door were the pilot was sitting on the other side.
The yellow masks came down from the ceiling, but the pilot said to not put it on and instead grab the life vest under our seats and put it on. I on the other hand did not do this straight away. I found the phone in my pocket and took it out. I quickly typed in my password turned off flightmode pressed the message icon and then new message and typed "Bye:)"
and sent it to everyone in my
contacts-list. The plane started facing nose down and I saw that smoke had started to form in front of me and block the view in front of me, by now I had already put on my vest and was crawling next to the red light that were flashing on the floor. I was crawling fast after my friend who only had one thing in mind, the exit. It was only a few rows ahead. I heard something rip and looked behind me in curiosity and saw that it was my jeans that had ripped of a screw. But I saw that my jeans wasn't the only thing the screw had dug threw, sat up to try to see the end of the screw but it had dug into my skin. I tried to scream but my lungs quickly filled with the black smoke that was causing me to see only a few feet in front of me. I felt that something was making it up my throat but before it could be thrown up I passed out.
A few seconds after the plane hit the water and the smoke got replaced with water that climbed down my throat and into my lungs and slowly killed me.
Many people may think that my life ended there but it had only just began.
