Chapter 4: Touchdown

In the previous chapter, the four Double Daters have their trip to their new school cut short when the plane exploded and crash-landed in the sea. However, they are safe and the four of them are now stranded in the middle of an ocean, in a lifeboat, with nothing but toiletries that Jing Xuan took from the toilet and half of a used fire extinguisher, what are they gonna do to live? Meng Yern's POV:
Day 1, 3.00pm

Oh my gosh, it's like forever and the sun is so hot while the water is freezing cold. We have been afloat on this lifeboat for like 3 hours and all three of them are fast asleep, while I'm here being so nervous and worried.

My mind was telling me all the bad things that could happen right now. What if there's a storm and it flips our lifeboat? What of we starve to death... or we had to drink seawater and eat raw fish? I miss my parents... my family... what if I never make it back? I was so scared until I started tearing up, and in no time, I started sobbing.

My tears were flowing down my cheeks and my mouth tasted my tear by accident, and I tasted the salty taste of it. I spit it out and then, I felt a tug on my shoulder. I thought to myself: Is that Vaghen? But then when I turned my head, I saw the other dude and then he asked me,

Sarven: "Hey, you alright?"

Meng Yern: "Yeah... just feeling kind of hopeless now :("

Sarven: "I haven't even ask, what's your name?"

Meng Yern: "Meng Yern. Leong Meng Yern."

Sarven: "Oh, cheer up Meng Yorn. I'm Sarven and that girl that's sleeping is Jing Xuan."

Meng Yern: "It's Meng Yern. Not Meng Yorn."

Sarven: "I can't properly pronounce Chinese names, so I'll just call you Mongoose *laughs*"

Meng Yern: "*elbows Sarven* Hey, mean ass *gives pissed face*"

Sarven: "You like that other dude, eh? *smirks*"

Meng Yern: "He's Vaghen. And there's a difference between like and love. And I love him, okay?"

Sarven: "Woah woah that's some cliché shit right there *smirks*"

Meng Yern: "You like Jing Xuan right?"

Sarven: "There's a difference between like and love."

Meng Yern: "You love Jing Xuan, of course."

Sarven: "Why mention the obvious, man? *smirks*"

Meng Yern: "Honestly, when you think that you can be alone with the person you love the most, with no one to judge you or stress you out, it actually sounds really good."

Sarven: "Yah, so stop crying okay?"

Meng Yern: "No... way..."

Sarven: "Yes you got to stop crying, look positive"

Meng Yern: "Look in front..."

Sarven: *looks in front* "Is that an... I... island?"

Meng Yern: "EVERYONE WAKE UP LET'S GET THIS LIFEBOAT THERE"

Jing Xuan's POV:

Oh my God... it feels so hot... and can my alarm stop blaring?

I woke up and then, Meng Yern was screaming loudly that there was an island ahead and we had to get the lifeboat there. I felt so tired and sleepy and totally blur, but then when I saw an island, less than half a kilometre away from us, I suddenly went from 0 to 100% and I started to row the boat with my hands.
